"She said yes, and apparently they're going out later tonight to see a movie and eat pizza." Scarlett told Addison. The final bell had rang and Addison and Scarlett were walking to their cars
"Well, isn't that original. So are you guys like done then?" She asked.
"I don't know, he said he was still going to come over after school."
Addison shrugged her shoulders, "Weird."
"You can say that again."
"Have you thought of anyone else you might want to kind of be with?"
"No, it's been James for quite a while, it's hard to just find someone else, they have to meet the standards James has set for them. Trust me it's going to be hard to-"
"Enough," Addison said cutting Scarlett off with a disgusted look on her face. "I love you Scar, but I don't want to hear about that part of your love life."
"I'll text you later okay?" Scarlett said.
"Alright, bye!"
Scarlett drove to her house, where she waited for James to come walking through the door. In the meantime she changed into a prettier bra and prettier panties. She also re-applied make up and as she walked down the stairs she heard his car door. She had slipped on a cardigan over her undergarments, but didn't bother to button it, and sat on the stairs.
He walked in and his jaw dropped as she stood up and walked over to him. Still facing her, he closed the door and locked it. He was wearing skinny jeans and a plaid shirt.
"What?" She asked giggling a bit and looked up at him.
"You, you look….gorgeous right now." He said.
He picked her up and carried her upstairs.
He didn't stay long after, only long enough to grab something to eat. But he had to leave for his date.
"You sure you don't want to stay longer?" She asked smiling as she walked him to the door.
"I really have to get going, sorry Scar." He said.
"You could take me back upstairs." She said quietly as her hand gently gripped his wrist and started to pull him towards the stairs.
He had a look on his face letting Scarlett know he considered it. He was obviously leaning more towards her. He placed his hands on her tiny waist and kissed her.
"I really have to go." He said.
She nodded and he kissed her cheek and she closed her eyes, she began drowning in regret as she closed the door.
After school the next day she drove home and waited in the foyer for him. He drove up, got out of the car and stood in the doorway.
"I'm going to end this." He said.
A pit formed in her stomach, "Why?"
"The date went really well, she said we should go out a few more times to make sure we're compatible."
"What?"
"Yeah, she's really nice though and I don't want to mess it up."
"O-oh, okay."
"I'm not sure what to say. It's been nice kissing you?"
"Are you trying to be funny?"
"No, I really am going to miss us."
"Me too, even if I don't show it."
"You never did, but I know you liked us too."
"Well, goodbye James."
"Goodbye Scarlett."
He leaned over and kissed her one last time, it was quick and soft and he left right after. Scarlett shut the door and slid her back down it until she was sitting up against it, hugging her knees, sobbing.
