My body gave out as it collapsed onto the floor. I couldn't feel the beatings my mother gave me, but I still flinched and closed my eyes as she smacked me with her bat. My body was numb; I couldn't move it. My mother has been beating me for the past hour, so it gave out. I coughed out blood and spat it on the carpet. She rolled my body on my back and stepped on my stomach as hard as she could. I gasp as I coughed up my blood. It trickled down my lips. My eyes stared up into the eyes of my mother; emotionless. It revealed it hatred and anger. My eyesight was beginning to fade out. I could hear my mother's screams. "You're a mistake! A nuisance! Why don't you die?" Those words ringed in my ears as it echoed through my head. It didn't break my heart, for my heart was lost a long time ago. My hearing became fuzzy when darkness started surrounding my vision. I slowly drifted deep into my consciousness.

"Aalina..." called out a deep male voice.

I scrunched up my face and groaned as I rolled my body over to the side. That's when I shot open my eyes. I sat up and glanced around my surroundings. I was lying on a red satin bed. I was in a room plastered with red wallpaper and satin curtains. The carpet was a black color and a dark wooden desk was placed against the wall next to the door. Behind that was two double doors with big golden loop handles.

"What the hell?" I mumbled confused.

All of a sudden I was pushed back down on the bed I woke up in. I closed my eyes and struggled to break free, until I opened my eyes to see a man, grinning down at me. He had black hair and lavender colored eyes. I sent a death glare at him.

"What the fuck is wrong with you, why are you on top of me and where the hell am I?" I hissed at him.

He stayed silent, the playful still on his lips, until he brought his lips up to my right ear.

"You're at your new home after I rescued you from death. Well kind of. You had to die in order my plan to work."

"What? What plan?" I asked him, shocked.

"Turning you into a demon. The proof is on your neck and your appearance."

I sat up and looked in the mirror that was on the wall beside the bed. My hair was a snow white color and my eyes changed to a reddish-orange color. I cocked my head to the left to notice the mark he left on my neck. It was a crimson color and in the shape of a pentagram. I smiled widely to see I had fangs inside my mouth. What's next? Am I going to grow horns and a tail?

"Sadly, no. Horns and tails don't come with the package." He told me.

I stared back at him. Did he just read my mind?

"Yes, I did. Demons can read the minds of other demons. So, you can read my mind." He told me, without moving his lips.

I grabbed my head when the room started to spin. The guy noticed, so he pushed me back down on my bed.

"There's one more thing that comes with becoming a demon. Since I am the one who turned into one..." He paused for a moment, before placing his lips on the same ear as before.

"You're now my mate..." He whispered in my ear with hint of seduction.

I felt my cheeks heat up as my heart raced.

"Well, not quite, we actually haven't mated yet, but I do own you, though."

I lied my head down on the pillow. This was a lot to take in. Apparently I died and became a demon, but I'm owned by this guy. Wait, he said "yet".

"What do you mean by "yet"?"

I watched as his lips curved into a lustful smirk. My body started to tremble as sweat trickled down my face. It felt like there was a huge knot in my throat, so I gulped it down. He crawled on the bed towards me. He leaned himself in between my legs. My face flushed warmer his face came closer to mine.

"I thought you'd never ask..."

With that, he vigorously planted a kiss on my lips. I pushed him away and stared in his eyes.

"Wait, I don't even know your name."

"It's Ellis Tarquin." He whispered to me.

"I'm Aalina Cressida." I smiled at him.

He smiled back me and kissed me again, but this time it was passionate. My arms embraced his neck and pulled him closer to my chest, to deepen the kiss. I had nothing to lose, so mating with this demon was no problem to me.
