All five kids leapt to their feet with excitement as they approached the most beautiful school they had all ever seen. It looked like a fairy tale princess castle that little girls could only dream about when they were younger. Towers were plastered with barnacles and colorful sea stars, from the outside of the hallways Marie could see what looked like two way mirror windows. She could see that they were clearly windows, but they reflected on the outside. She couldn't see inside what the halls and rooms looked like at all. She couldn't wait to see the inside of the school; the anticipation was nearly killing her. All the towers seemed to be covered in those two way mirrors, even one that was kind of off in the distance away from the school. That must be the dorms, she thought to herself. She couldn't wait to see her room either, or find out who she's rooming with, or finally be able to sleep in a bed again. The trip on the way to the school seemed like it took two weeks to complete.

All of the scattered carriages suddenly fell into a line and followed one another.
"Where are we going?" Marie asked.
"It looks as if we're heading straight towards one of those towers!" Emerald exclaimed.
"They'll kill us!" Ruby screamed.
A wide open door opened near the top of the tower, almost to the sea level but still underwater and smoothly and swiftly, each and every carriage entered through the gaping hole in the side of the tower. As their carriage entered, they felt a pull as they went from water to air, like the two had been separated by and invisible wall that was safe to pass through. All of the creatures that were pulling the carriages vanished into thin air, each leaving some sparkle as they disappeared. Like magic.

The carriages one by one re-scattered across the floor of what looked like the dining room. They all rushed to grab their things and get out to see everything, loudspeakers boomed to exit the carriage and for everyone to find a seat. All of the other carriages were emptying out also. Kids from all over spilled out of the carriages and all seemed to be as excited as Marie was. There were five tables, all long and stretched out like giant picnic tables. As everyone began to try and get seated, the candles placed along these tables suddenly became lit up with a burning white fire, colorful table cloths were magically placed and stretched on each table. The first was red, then yellow, turquoise blue, deep purple, and dark green. Everyone stood in amazement of the magic table cloths and white fire candles that lit up the entire room.

"ATTENTION STUDENTS: AS YOU CAN SEE, EACH TABLE IS SET BY COLOR OF RED, YELLOW, BLUE, PURPLE, AND GREEN. THESE DINING TABLES ARE ASSIGNED WHEN THE COLORED DRAPERY AND TABLE LINENS ARE PRESENT, NO EXCEPTIONS. YOU BE ASSIGNED TO DINING TABLES AS TO THE COLOR OF YOUR TAIL. IF YOUR TAIL IS GREEN, YOU SHOULD BE SITTING AT THE GREEN TABLE. IF YELLOW, THE YELLOW TABLE. THANK YOU, THAT IS ALL." And at that, the loudspeakers suddenly shut off with a beep at the last words.

Marie headed for the blue table and took a seat right next to Landon. At least she wasn't alone. She saw Ruby and Bianca at red, Emerald at green, Lance at yellow, Adam at purple, and Sapphire walking up to blue. Other students piled in and found their tables also until the entire room had been seated. The students carriages had disappeared while they were busy finding their seats. The door in which they all entered had one last carriage fly in that was a solid white. The gaping, wide open door of the tower slammed shut and the carriage's door swung open. One by one, the figures in the black hooded robes from earlier had all stepped out and marched confidently to the front. They significantly pulled their hoods back revealing their faces as they reached to the front of the dining hall.

"Welcome Hatchlings!" A Blonde lady at the front said, "I am Vice Head Master Phoebe Collins, you will meet Head Master Johnson on the first day of school which is in only a matter of days. I realize it has been a long day for all of you but please listen carefully and we will all try to get through this quickly and smoothly. As you can see, I have administrators walking around handing out things as I cue them to. What they are handing you right now is a schedule of our week. Day 1 is nearly over; therefore, you will review over the remainder of the days starting with Day 2 and continue on to Day 5. After Day 5 you will awake to the first day of school. The second thing they will be handing out is dormitory assignments and rules. This will show your name, color, room floor and room number. Thirdly, is dining menus for the entire week and fourthly, a map of the school."

Marie scanned over each 'hand-out' she was given. One showed her name, her tail color, floor 8 and room 804 with a room key attached. The map of the school was pretty self-explanatory but the menus and the schedules were detailed and extensive:

Marie was actually excited for this week after reading about all of the upcoming events. She wished that they would have a free period tonight so she could meet some people and make new friends. She didn't want to be the one that nobody knew. She scanned over the weeks menu pretty quickly before they dismissed. Day 1 was lobster, day 2 was crab cakes and shrimp scampi, day 3 was sushi and salad. Day 4 and Day 5 depended on your professors and colors. Wait a second, aren't our new fellow sea critters…friends? Is it okay to eat them now?

Marie's thoughts were interrupted by the dismissal. They announced for each color of tail to follow their leader to their rooms. Marie was among the first ones in line. They rode on the carriages once more to the dormitory hall and after numerous floors, Marie finally arrived at her room. She had gotten their before her roommate and was too tired to wait. She felt for the bed in the dark and dove on top of it and its covers and went sound to sleep. Day 2 holds a new day.
