People Are Equal
In the feature story "Eyewitness Account", the quote "In the face of tragedy, all people are equal." I agree with this statement. All of the people in San Francisco lost everything, the rich and the poor. An example is the residents who possess about the same amount of items. Eventually, the trunks that they had been carrying around would have been left behind. They had walked up and down steep hills carrying these trunks for hours, trying to beat the flames. Another example is the man the author, London, had stayed with was soon going to lose all of his belongings, including belongings his past relatives would be gone, but he was calm. Everyone would have also lost all the money they had saved and worked for. Eventually, everyone would have the same amount. So, I believe that all people are equal during a tragedy.
