The fear in the night, of the monster under your bed,
You laugh, knowing its ridiculous,
Yet you can't help but look,
The time in the night when you see a face in the shadows,
You realise it's yours;
Yet you're still apprehensive.
That clunk in the night,
Or the cat.
But one day,
The clunk in the night will be the burglar
And the face in the shadows will not be yours,
Or you'll look for the monster under your bed and …
No one knows what heralds in the night.
