White is Black

Indecision makes your skin crawl,

Protests and reasons, my sorry downfall.

You look with scorn and tell me again,

Of your disappointment, your anger – then

All falls silent, and there is only ice.

My excuses and dreams, they won't suffice.

.

The present crashes, the future lingers

But I swear it's grasped between my fingers.

To me white is black, and brings more dread

For you life is now, dead is dead.

And you shout and you rage, as you did then;

I know in my heart, I let you down again.

.

White is simple, no pain and no blood

Whereas black is messy – wrong, no good.

Yes means no problems, who cares about today?

No is a disaster – someone must pay.

I hear you seething, count to ten –

I'm sorry I let you down again.

.

Indecision makes your skin crawl,

Protests and reasons, my sorry downfall.

You look with scorn and tell me again,

Of your disappointment, your anger – then

All falls silent, and there is only ice.

My excuses and dreams, they won't suffice.

This one is slightly more personal than some of my other poems, so it might not make as much sense, I don't know. But please review, I'd love to know what you think!
