A fire within a heart lightly glows,
Too dim to burn too great yet still enough.
For this glow to rest within, I must pose.
A mask of soothing words covers my bluff.

I hide my affection within these lines,
Yet these words would not be so without her.
Her presence lies where my rhythm alignes.
The dreams will inspire words ears prefer.

If my thoughts would reach ears other than mine,
Indifference would be my reaction.
Not an idea should change or decline.
The risk is too great for this attraction.

My only hope for her presence here,
To give life to my words to persevere.
