A reflection on one of my greatest "learning experiences". Written October 2011.
Four long years of struggle and pain
Four hard years I fought in vain
But now the white flag's in plain sight
I throw up my hands; I've lost this fight.
The inevitable was so long delayed
But now, at last, I've been betrayed
Blood, sweat, tears, all have perished
With memories, those I have cherished.
I've lost my grip, you've slipped through my fingers
The thought of defeat still burns and lingers
And now I pray the end's in sight
Lay down your guns, men, we've lost this fight.
