Author's Note: This is just a short poem on my view of myself. Title says it all really.

Who Am I?

Who am I?

I am girl

Who is proud

And too opinionated for her own good.

I am someone,

Who wishes for nothing more than to bet set free.

I am a person,

Who believes that if the sky was the limit than man would have never walked on the moon.

I am a child,

Who follows her future as if it is the brightest star.

I am a friend,

Who looks to her friends for the advice that could change her life because she would trust no one else.

I am a daughter,

Who wants to do nothing more than make her parents proud.

I am a runner,

Choosing not to face the problems of the past, and to instead look into the face of the future.

I am a teammate,

Who is proud of every one of her twelve companions in her sport.

I am a writer,

Who is proud enough to sit down and type this so you can know what kind of person she is.

For I am an American,

Proud of my rights because it allowed me to write this.

Who Am I?

I am a person.

Who breathes the same air as you,

Who avoids staring at the same sun as you for fear of being blinded,

Who sees the same stars shine across the sky,

Who knows the same moon you see is only the size of her thumb,

Who sails your same oceans,

Who reads the same stories,

Who listens to most of the same news,

Who watches the same movies,

Who likes the same music,

Who dreams similar dreams.

Who am I?

I am a person who is so different from you

Yet so similar in truth.
