Helloooo! I decided to just write away and hope it ends up how I want it. I take so long to post because I want to get it just right, but I think it's pretty much impossible for me right now. I'll get there, though. Right now I think I've decided to just write it and post it unedited, and then if I'm not satisfied, or my readers aren't satisfied with the way it goes, then I'll spend time to edit it and repost the story after it's been completed. So, if you aren't liking the way it's going, let me know and I'll take your input into consideration. I know how I want the story to go, I just don't know how I want the same details to be in order to get it there. Anyways, I just wanted to get that out there. Here's chapter six!

Chapter Six:

I woke up after eight full hours of sleep, which I hardly ever get, felling refreshed. I got up and started getting ready for the first day of my junior year. I was excited for new classes and hoped that Kayla would be in some of them with me. I was all about taking AP courses to bump up my transcript and gpa. I was determined to get into a good college with good scholarships and I needed a competitive transcript to do so. Kayla was excited about college as well, but her parents could get her into any school she wanted so she didn't apply herself as much as she could. She still signed up for a few of the same classes at me, but that still didn't mean we would get them together.

After taking a shower I started picking out my outfit. I decided on a cute summery looking dress. It was a pretty turquoise blue with a navy blue swirl design all over it. It had a tie in the back that complimented my figure. I paired it with a pair of wedge sandals that added 2 inches to my height and made my legs look longer. I let my hair fall naturally and luckily it decided to be wavy today. I didn't put on any makeup except for a little mascara and lipgloss. Once I was satisfied with how I looked, I grabbed my bookbag and put it at the front door. Kayla would pick me up around 7:20, so that meant I had about 45 minutes to eat breakfast and relax. I fixed coffee and pancakes and left some for my brother. He should be getting up soon to go to work.

I finished eating and started cleaning up a little since I didn't have anything else to do. My brother came downstairs a few minutes later and ate his breakfast, wished me good luck on my first day, and went back upstairs to get ready for work. I went outside to wait on the front porch and I was messing around on my phone when a car pulled into my driveway. It took me a minute to realize who it was since it wasn't Kayla's car. After a minute, I realized it was Jacob. I got up slowly and walked over to him.

"Hello."

"Hey, I was on my way to school and decided to see if you needed a ride." He looked up at me and smiled. My heart fluttered a little and it took me a few seconds to respond.

"I- uhm- actually Kayla is supposed to be taking me. She should be here any-" I was cut off by my phone ringing in my pocket. I looked at the caller id and it read 'Kayla'.

"One sec."

I answered the phone, "Hey, what's up?"

"Hey. I know I was supposed to take you today, but Andrew stopped by and offered me a ride and I told him yes. I'm sorry. I can get him to get you t-"

"No. It's fine. Actually Jake stopped by here too. So it's no problem.

"Okay. Well see you at school. Bye."

"Bye."

I went over to grab my bookbag and back over to Jake's window.

"Offer accepted. Your friend stole my ride away." I grinned at him and was rewarded with his dazzling smile. I went over to the passenger side and got in. He pulled out of the driveway and sped off down the road.

"So, are you excited about school?" He broke the silence.

"Yeah, right. I am a little, I guess, but only for nerdy reasons. I'm excited to see what classes I got. I'll hate them by next week though. It's always the same." I sighed, giving up hope of making new friends this year. It never worked out. I guess I could consider Jake a new friend, though. That thought made me smile to myself a little.

"Yeah. I feel you. I don't really like school either. I like being around friends sometimes, but I don't like it when I get a class with random people and no one wants to make new friends so it's just awkward." I laughed at hearing that from him of all people.

He looked over at me with a confused expression, "What's funny?"

"Oh- nothing... It's just. Well, you're popular. You have plenty of people to talk to, even if they aren't your close friends, at least you have someone to talk to."

"Yeah, but like you said- they usually aren't my close friends, which only consists of Andrew and Matthew, so yeah. I guess it's okay talking to other people, but it's not really the same, you know?"

"Yeah... I guess. I just don't really get it. I mean, I just have Kayla as a close friend, but I would be okay with having just one person that I knew to talk to, but there never really is anyone."

"Oh... Well maybe we'll have some classes together. That'd be awesome." He looked over and grinned at me and I couldn't help but smile back. He's adorable. We were pulling into the school parking lot by then.

He parked the car and we got out and headed towards the front office. There was a huge crowd since everyone had to get their schedules at the same time. This wouldn't be a problem if they would just mail the schedules or have and open house like every other school. But no, here we are waiting in a line that would probably take the entire morning. Then we'd all have to run to our classes so we wouldn't be late. This was ridiculous.

"This is going to take forever." Jake groaned and I held back my laughter.

"What? You don't want to wait in line with me? Am I that bad?" I watched his eyes widen and fought the smile that was threatening to take over.

"What? No. That's not what I meant! I just- I don't-" I couldn't help it anymore, I busted out laughing.

"Relax. I was- kidding-." I could hardly breathe I was laughing so hard. "Your face!" More laughter. This time he joined me and before long we had tears in our eyes from laughing so hard. People were staring at us, probably amazed that Jacob, a popular guy, was laughing with me, whoever I was. But we didn't care, we were just having fun.

"Wow. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard." He shook his head at me, still smiling.

"Yeah, that was hilarious. Your face was so funny." I giggled again.

"You're so crazy. I thought you were serious." He chuckled at me.

"That was kind of the point... so, what classes did you sign up for?"

"I can't even remember. A bunch of AP classes, but I can't remember which ones." He ran his hand through his hair.

"Really? Me too. I stressed out about them for months and wrote them down in probably a million places and I lost every single list and can't remember them for the life of me."

"That's exactly what I did! I can't believe it. Well, maybe we'll have some classes together after all. Whatever they may be." I laughed at him.

"Yep..." We were getting closer to the desk and were maybe 10 people away. I wondered where Kayla and Andrew were, so I decided to call her.

"I'm gonna find out where Kayla is." I dialed her number and she answered on the third ring.

"Hey, girlie. Got your schedule yet?"

"No not yet. Why?"

"I already got mine. Andrew got someone in the front of the line to get ours for us."

"What? You can actually do that? What the hell? We've been standing here for like 20 minutes!"

"Really? I'm sorry! I should've told you. Oh well. You got to spend time with Jake at least!" I heard her laughing on the other end and I knew I was blushing.

"Shut up Kayla. Gotta go. Getting my schedule now. Bye." We weren't even next. I just couldn't listen to her any more.

"They already got out of line?"

"They got someone to get their schedules for them. Cheaters."

He laughed at me, "Well at least I got to stand in line with an amaz-"

He was interrupted by the screeching voice of the school's head cheerleader, "Jakey! Hey, babe! I was looking everywhere for you! Why didn't you answer your phone?- You know what? It doesn't matter. I found you. We'll get you your schedule and go hang out with my friends, kay?"

"Uhm-whatever." He was blushing and looked nervous. I could feel myself turning red with embarrassment and a little bit of anger. I can't believe I let myself get so involved with him. Even if we were just friends, I knew I wouldn't be able to control that. I felt tears fill my eyes and I turned away quickly before either of them would see my face.

"Oh. Who are you?" I could tell by the venom in her voice she was speaking to me, so I took a deep breath and got myself under control. I turned around and plastered a fake smile on my face.

"Hi. I'm Sophie." I put my hand out for her to shake and she looked at it like touching it would give her the plague.

"Okay then. I'll just get my schedule and be gone." I was next in line so I told the woman my name and and she found my schedule and handed it to me.

"Thanks." I turned around and started to walk away.

"Bye Soph!" I heard Jake call out but I just kept walking. I decided to just cut all ties with him. I knew I'd thought that a lot lately but this time it was final. I hope.

This chapter turned out to be longer than I thought it would be! You got to meet Jake's girlfriend! Haha, lucky you. Right. Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I plan on updating early this week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, but I'm not sure, so don't count on it. It will definately be up by Saturday night, though. Well as usual! Thank you for reading! please favorite, review, and share! Thank you, Thank you!
