Author's Note: This is a little poem that I wrote for my great grandfather, great uncle, other great uncle, great, great uncle, grandfather, father, and everyone else who served in the military. These are for all the unknown heroes.
Their names are not in textbooks,
Or hanging from walls or plaques,
These unknown heroes,
Are not known by all,
Yet they died, served, and took the fall.
They fought for the stars and stripes,
They fought for you and I,
They fought for the land of the free,
The home of the brave,
They fought to keep a country safe.
They are the unknown heroes,
Who live next-door,
Who gave and give their all.
