Bright and early in the morning I was woken by my son jumping onto my bed. I looked over at the clock and then back at his eager face, "It's seven o'clock."

"Yeah I know but I couldn't sleep, I wanna hear more," he replied.

I smiled and then pulled over the covers. He scampered under them and then looked excitedly at me.

"Ok so where did I leave off?" I asked.

"You told the story about how you had a snowball fight with dad."

"Well nothing much happened after that, we occasionally talked in the hall but nothing exciting happened until a year after meeting him, the day was so similar to the day we met it was creepy..."

It was a cold snowy December day, I turned on the TV quickly as I ate my cereal.

"Since there is so much snow and the roads are icy all of the schools are cancelled except for Sliverwood high school," the reporter announced.

"Crap!" I shouted.

"Emma, watch your language," my dad instructed.

"Sorry dad," I replied.

"So what's wrong sweetie?" He asked.

"My school is the only school open today," I alerted.

"Oh well are you ready for school?"

I nodded and then walked out to the car with my dad. We drove to my school and then when he dropped me off he looked at me and advised, "Cheer up kido, you never know what the future holds."

I smiled and then gave him a hug, I grabbed my bag and sulked into my school. I was slowly opening my locker when I felt someone touch my shoulder. I jumped then turned around to see Sam standing behind me.

He laughed, "You're kinda jumpy today, what's up?"

"Not much I just really don't wanna be here," I replied as I pulled my books out of my locker.

"Yeah I know what you mean, I was just in my S.S. class and there are only two other kids there."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, can I walk to your class with you? I really don't wanna go back to my class, it's really boring," Sam asked.

I laughed and then nodded. Sam smiled and then we walked over to my English class. To my surprise the only person I saw was my teacher!

She looked up from her book to see me and Sam standing in the doorway, "Oh hello Emma and is that Samuel I see?"

"Hi Mrs. Evergreen, is it cool if I hang out in your class today?" Sam asked.

"Sure, we aren't really doing anything so if you two want you can go outside and play in the snow you can or if you want to hang out here that's fine too," Mrs. Evergreen replied.

Sam looked over to me, "Wanna have a snowball fight?"

I smiled then nodded.

"I'll race you outside!" Sam exclaimed and then he sprinted outside, I tried to catch up with him but he's a track star so I really have no chance.

Once I finally got outside, Sam greeted me with a snowball to the face, "This is starting to be a tradition," I laughed.

"Let's make it a tradition! It's a really awesome, I would love to be able to look forward to hanging out with you every year, or more often than that would be cool too," Sam hinted.

I looked at him confused, he blushed noticing that I wasn't catching on. He walked closer to me, I stepped back, I was afraid he was going to face wash me. He looked at me confused. "Are you going to face wash me?" I asked neurotically.

"No, I was going to ask you out on a date but I'm not so sure now," he joked.

I picked up some snow and threw it at his face. He smiled and then walked closer to me, I could feel my heart racing.

"Emma, would you do me the honour of going out on a date with me?" Sam asked nervously.

I could feel butterflies in my stomach but I ignored them. I stepped even closer to him and shyly kissed him. It felt like I was in a dream, it really was a perfect kiss. As we backed away from each other, I felt my heart race. He smiled and then stepped closer again. I closed my eyes expecting him to kiss me again but instead he face washed me!

I opened my eyes and grabbed some snow off the ground. Sam sprinted away from me and I chased him, it was the start of a beautiful relationship!

"Why do all of the romantic things happen when it's snowing?" my son asked.

"I have no idea, I guess it was just our special thing," I replied. All of a sudden I heard the doorbell ring. I looked over at my son, wondering if maybe he was expecting someone.

"Who do you think it is?" He asked.

I out of my bed and pulled on my housecoat and walked over to the front door, my son followed closely behind me. I pulled open the door to see my parents standing in the doorway.

"Merry Christmas!" they exclaimed.

"Grandma, Grandpa!" my son exclaimed as he gave them both a hug.

"We brought presents!" my mom exclaimed.

The came inside and we all sat down in the living room. I walked over to the tree and pulled out the two presents for my parents and handed them to them. My mom handed me a plastic bag I empty it, there were five presents two for me, three for my son. I handed the three presents to him and watched his young face light up as he opened them. First one was a game he really wanted for his Xbox, the second was a sweater that he pretended to be happy about and the last was a cell phone!

"Thank you so much!" my son exclaimed as he stared at his phone.

I looked over at my parents then my mom said, "don't worry sweetie we will pay for the bills, now open yours."

I opened them up, the first was a book called dating for dummies. I looked over at my mom. She smiled, "Don't be offended sweetie, I just think it's time for you to move on."

I didn't say anything, I placed the book on the side table beside me and then opened up the other one, it was an at home spa kit. "Thanks dad."

"How did you know it was from me and not your mother?"My dad asked.

"I just had a hunch but thank you for the gifts," I replied.

"There is one more thing, we found it in the attic," My dad pulled a small purple book out of his coat.

I gasped, "Is that what I think it is?"

"Yes," my dad answered and then he handed it to me. I pulled the key out from inside the cover and unlocked it.

"What is it mom?" my son asked as he moved to sit next to me.

"It's my pregnancy book," I replied.

"Huh?"

"It's the book I made when I was pregnant with you, it's filled with pictures and writing about how I was feeling," I explained.

"Cool, can I see it?" I handed it over to my son, he was very intrigued by a certain picture. "You look so young and so big!"

I looked over at the picture. It was a picture of me with Sam kissing my big exposed belly. "Well I was about seventeen then and I was around seven months pregnant."

"You had me at seventeen?"

"Yup, that's why I'm so much cooler than your friends' parents," I laughed.

Hours later my parents finally left and then I was confronted by my son, "So will you tell me more?"

"Why don't you just read the pregnancy book, that's what comes next," I suggested.

"I wanna hear you tell me."

"I'm sorry but I'm not going to tell you anymore," I replied.

"Why don't?"

"Because I'm not okay?" I replied. Wow that was a lame response!

"Will you tell me tomorrow?"

"Maybe, now I'm going to bed so try not to be too loud," I asked.

"Okay goodnight mom, I love you."

"I love you too," I replied and then I walked off into my bedroom.
