Sorry this is all taking so long. I need to get over my laziness…but anyway I hope you all enjoy this and like it anyway.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Cheerios and have nothing against it; I actually like that cereal.
Rosa waited for a moment before knocking again softly. Still, she heard nothing from the other side of the wooden door. With a sigh she turned around and started to walk down the stairs until she hear his door open with a soft creak. Rosa looked up at the doorway to see Thaddeus standing in it, rubbing one of his eyes with the palm of his hand. He looked half asleep and had an annoyed look on his face; he was wearing a t-shirt and dark blue pajama pants that covered his feet. (Surprisingly they actually make pants that are too big for him.) She climbed back up the stairs and looked up at the sleepy giant.
"Um…I didn't wake you did I?" She asked him softly.
He shook his head 'no' in response but it was obvious he was lying. He looked tired enough to fall over right then and begin sleeping on the cold, stone floor.
"Well, I'm sorry anyway, but I just wanted to let you know that I am sorry for what I said. You know, about the whole, um, troll thing." She mumbled, scratching the back of her head and looking up at him nervously.
He just stared at her, blinking slowly, still half asleep.
"…Um…but I-I don't think you're a troll. Really! I didn't mean what I said and I just wanted to make sure that you knew that I'm sorry."
After a pause he nodded. Rosa let out a sigh of relief.
"Well, sorry for waking you." She said and turned away to go back down the stairs. "I didn't mean what I said. Actually I think you might be kinda nice." She said to him, smiling and looking over her shoulder at him. He gave a tired smile back and went back into his room, closing the door behind him. Rosa headed back to her room, feeling a little better about what had happened between them earlier. When she got to her room she changed into a dull red tank top and a pair of loose fitting basketball shorts. Within a few minutes of lying in her new bed she was asleep.
The next morning
Rosa woke up slowly, moaning as a bird chirped right outside her window. Morning already? She thought as she slowly sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed. "Uhhh, I don't want to get up…" She mumbled but forced herself to get out of her bed anyway. Slowly, dragging her feet, she walked to the door, opened it and stepped outside. She shivered slightly at the coldness of the hallway. She wanted so badly to turn back and jump into her bed but she forced herself to keep moving forward.
Eventually she made it to the main floor and into the kitchen. Yawning loudly, she walked over to one of the cabinets and pulled out a box of cereal. She didn't know what kind it was and she didn't really care. She walked over to another cabinet and began rummaging through it until she found a bowl. Slowly she walked into the dining room and sat her bowl down the when back to the kitchen for the milk. Finally after completing all the tasks that were required for her morning breakfast she sat down and began to eat.
After the first bite she looked down at the bowl, looking at the small, round shapes in floating in the milk.
Cheerios… She thought with a frown and a glare at the cereal. I wake up early and the first thing I grab is Cheerios? Ugh, I freakin' hate Cheerios…Freakin'…Stupid…Cheerios…And their…stupid little…shape… She already wasn't a morning person but to have gotten the one thing that could have made this worse on top of that certainly didn't help. She sat there for a few minutes, angrily staring down the innocent cereal when she heard footsteps coming towards her direction. Still with her angry glare she looked up to see Thaddeus walking into the dining room, stretching his arms above his head and silently yawning. She watched him a moment longer then went back to looking at her cereal. Quietly he walked over and sat down beside her and after a minute or two of watching her; he placed his hand on the bowl.
"Sure go ahead. I certainly don't want the rest." She said to him, waving with her hand. He took the bowl and slid it over in front of him and started eating. Rosa watched him for a moment then spoke.
"How can you eat that crap, man?" She grumbled the question to him, still looking at the cereal. Thaddeus only shrugged at her and continued eating. She watched him for a moment and sighed, obviously bored with watching him eat.
"Well, I'm going to get ready to go into town. You can finish that if you want." Rosa said, standing up and out of her seat at the table. After pushing in her chair she left through the door, leaving Thaddeus alone with the bowl of cereal. She stumbled back up to her room and began to go through her drawers. There really wasn't anything good that she could wear but who was she trying to impress? Lazily she just grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of pants, deciding to wear the same socks and hoodie that she had worn the day before. She grabbed her hairbrush and began to brush her hair quickly, wanting to check out her new home as fast as possible. After looking herself over in the mirror, she replaced the hairbrush and began to walk out of her room, pulling the hoodie over her head as she walked. She passed by the dining room, not looking in as she made her way towards the front door. As she grabbed the handle and pulled, her uncle stepped down the stairs.
"Where are you going?" He asked her, yawning.
"I told you I was going to check out town yesterday, remember?" She said, looking up at her half asleep family member. He paused for a moment, thinking. Suddenly he nodded.
"Ah yes. I remember now. Alright Rosa have fun, but be careful-oh, and be back before dinner time!" He warned her and continued his way down the stairs and towards the kitchen. She nodded and opened the creaky door, making sure to close it behind her. As the large door closed, she couldn't help but jump a little bit. That door had always scared the living crap out of her when it was closed. But she couldn't help but feel a little bit excited too; being in a new place, in a new country that she had only been to a few times in her life. With a happy sigh and a smile she began walking down the hill, towards the small village at the bottom.
I'm so sorry this took so long, Rosa will be going into town soon though. Maybe she'll even meet a new friend! Well, review and whatnot.
