The Fate of Kings
By Geoff Gonzalez
The fate of kings is to be a pest,
And for their souls to have no rest.
To sit upon thrones of empty gold,
But forfeit their minds, turned stone-cold.
For in their hearts is only greed,
Yet they are satisfied their every need.
From their subjects, always taking.
But in the process, hatred making.
So kings, you see, have a terrible fate,
But for us, at least, it's not too late:
We must remember to always give,
Else in dying, find we did not live.
