There is a streetlight around the corner,
Illuminating the world of shadows.
It is hardly bright against the night,
But beggars can't be choosers, can they?
Your mind is blank as you inhale
Cups of coffee, one after another.
Trudging casually in the snow,
Your footprints leaving a trail to follow.
Dim light falls on your face,
And you smile before you walk away.
It is just another warm moment,
Insignificant in comparison to a lifetime.
