I honestly could not believe that I was heading back to New York with Elena just to be with that Gavin kid. I didn't really like him, actually when we kissed it was so… weird. I felt like a cheating bitch! But I had no one to cheat on… so how could it be considered cheating. Either way, I was once again in Elena's car and we were once again singing at the top of our lungs on the way to New York.
"Hey girls, can we keep it down for a minute?" Elena's dad asked and we both nodded.
"So Stella, you excited to see Gavin again?" She whispered.
"Nah, you can have him," I said without thinking.
"Wait, but you kissed him! Why would he want me?" she exclaimed.
I laughed, "Because he kissed me!" She laughed too. "I just don't really want to be all flirty today." We then remained silent through the tough driving areas for Elena's dad to concentrate but once we got the "go ahead" we sang out lungs out once more.
*2 hours later*
"Hey girls," Gavin opened the door. "It's so great to see you again!" He hugged me and I hugged back then stepped in doors so Elena could receive a hug. "What do you girls feel like doing?"
"Well there's that video game you were telling us about!" Elena recalled and jumped up.
"Oh I only have two controllers," Gavin scratched behind his neck trying to fix this problem as he spoke.
"I won't play," I answered. "I much rather watch, anyway. It makes me look less pathetic." The two of them laughed and then started fighting. Elena was winning when the bell rang.
"Hey Stella, do you mind getting that?" Gavin asked.
I shrugged. "Sure, I guess."
"Yeah it's probably just my friend Drew." He said and I froze. My heart began to beat so quickly I could hear it in continuously ringing in my ears. "Don't worry, he doesn't bite." I started inching out the door and down the stairs. I came to the door and took a deep breath, and finally, I turned the knob.
"Good day, Miss," A pizza boy stood there in front of me. "Is Gavin here?" It was not the Drew that I was thinking of but then I realized that he had a pizza in his hand.
"Yes," I answered.
"Oh, okay, his mom ordered a pizza from down the road for him and some friends so here you go, here's some soda to go with it." He smiled brightly and I took the stuff.
"Thank you so much!" I croaked, and then I turned back inside. Walked back up the stairs with the food in my hands, and found myself back in Gavin's room. The two teenagers still sat there but now Gavin was winning.
"Hey pizza is here," I called.
"Drew brought pizza?"
"No, the pizza boy said your mom brought it." I answered sweetly.
"Ok, sounds about right," Gavin sighed and then paused the game.
"Oh sure, pause the game for food." Elena yelled at him punching him lightly in the arm.
My head started spinning and my face got hot, I wasn't really sure what was happening. "Um guys, I need some air." I said and didn't look back at them. I stumbled down the stairs and continued my journey out the front door. Suddenly I hit someone right in the head.
"I'm so sorry!" I said holding my head and then looked up.
"Stella?" Andrew looked at me.
"Oh no, please no," I said suddenly and began to walk in another direction.
"Wait, Stella!" Andrew exclaimed. I couldn't look at him, because I knew the second I looked at him I would love him again. I couldn't bare love him!
How would I expect that to even work? Suddenly he grasped my arm and turned me roughly. "Stella!" He yelled. "Stella, I was hit by a bus and not able to see you ever! You owe me at least two minutes."
Just as I had expected, I looked into his eyes and my heart began to beat. I had never been this close to him in real life. "Stella, I love you." He said. "I love you even if you barely know who I am. Even if you coming into my hospital room wasn't real, I love you!" He exclaimed.
I looked up feeling the expression on my face resemble an upset puppy. "Andrew, please," I said trying to pull away until he grasped me closer. My face reached up to his subconsciously, his breath so warm against my lips. Time froze like this for but a moment as we inched closer without officially kissing until our lips were so close to touching that the air between us seemed to stitch together. Finally, I closed my eyes, crossed my fingers, and pushed my lips against his. Softly his lips returned my kiss and his hand left my arm to reposition at my lower back and bring me closer than what I thought was possible.
Finally I pulled apart and looked up at him. A soft smirk was left on his face and my breath was just returning as I whispered softly. "Andrew,"
"Is this just a dream?"
"No, this is very real." And he lifted me up to share another kiss that would forever stay in my memory and my heart.
