The Indigo Sky

The war is over

I am the last man standing

I am paralysed by the things around me

Death, destruction

I feel nothing other than the icy wind bite into my flesh

And white hot empty tears burning down my face

I hear nothing

I look up at the indigo sky

It's a symbol the earth is taking her last breath

And that I shall soon be taking mine.

A stranger clothed in the whitest of robes steps forth

I open my arms

"Finish it!"

He holds up His hand and smiles at me, wide and honest

He calls out my name and whispers "sweet dreams, My child"

He smiled at me, in the very end, He was merciful enough to grant my wish

I return His smile and mouth the words "thanks"

And the last thing I saw

Was the indigo sky...
