She wanted it all to get better.

She prayed and she hoped

That maybe, just maybe

She'd be granted a miracle.

She believed that there

Was a chance,

For the poor soul

She was trying to save.

She'd always been a brave,

Honest and loving person,

Never committed a crime.

Never asked for anything

Just gave it all away.

When others were prepared to give up

She kept her faith.

She always held her chin high

And never dragged her feet.

No matter how hard she tried

Or how much she wished

Upon that shooting star,

There were just no miracles

Left for her in the world,

At least not these days.
