Cold blood trails along his dry cheeks;
down his body about to collapse
with a fond little smile, he closes his eyes
shut before the world and upon his lover's cries.
The screams were playing loudly in his mind,
and soft whispers of those three words he knows
more than anything, yet couldn't say.
He knows it's the end when those memories flash
like a broken radio and missing tape barely
visible—just the laughs and little things
that made his life so worthwhile.
Those little things that left him smiling
brightly after meeting light's end.
