Hi. This chapter is longer than all of the others put together. It took me three days to write this, so I hope it's good.
Today has been the worst day (well, one of the worst of the worst days) of my life.
Why? You may ask.
It would be better if I told you in a flashback.
I was sitting alone on a bench outside the school, when, suddenly a new tune popped into my head. I liked it so much that I decided to write it down.
After a few minutes, I heard footsteps coming closer to me. I lifted my head expecting to see Chrissie. It was Tara.
"So," she said. It never occurred to me how high her voice was. Of course, I knew that her voice was high-pitched, but I didn't know that she almost sounded like a terrified mouse. "My boyfriend Joey asked me about you."
"Yes? And what's the problem with that?" I said in a bored voice; I wasn't in the mood to talk to her.
"Let me make one thing clear to you, sunshine. You are a Loser, Joey is a Popular. You will not become friends with or date him. You got that, Hill?" her words became more threatening at the end of her 'speech'. Like I cared.
"Sure. I'll keep that in mind if I want to socialise with anybody of your group." With that I stood up and walked into the school. I could hear her call names to my back. I just smiled. I knew this was going to be a bad day.
See, I was right. But that wasn't the worst thing that happened. Let me skip forward to lunch to tell you the worst thing that happened.
I was enjoying my lunch with Chrissie when an overhead speaker suddenly said:
"Could Robin Hill and Joey Hunter please report to the principal's office?"
I looked at Chrissie and received a pat on the arm before slowly rising out of my chair and walking towards the principal's office. I could feel Joey walking behind me.
When we were both settled in our seats, the principal sat down behind his desk.
"I suppose you don't know why you're here, do you?"
We both shook our heads 'no'.
"But I'm sure that you know about the Battle of the Bands coming up?"
This time, we both nodded our heads.
"Well, I heard that you two are brilliant musicians, so I want you two to be in a band. I've chosen two other students to play bass and drums. They're almost as good as you."
We both stared at him in shock. Finally, we came around and started to protest, but Mr. Manners (principal) cut us off.
"No 'but's. You must do this otherwise you will both be expelled. The other two have already agreed. Lunch is over so you may go to homeroom."
So we got up and walked to our homerooms.
After that, I continued my day normally. Which brings us to now. I'm sitting at home, writing this, whilst waiting for David to come home from work. How was I going to tell him that I'm in a band? I hear the front door open now. I'm going to tell him now.
Speak to you soon,
Last night went better than expected.
I was sitting alone on the bench outside before school. I was daydreaming in my own little world when some boy walked up to me. He was quite nerdy with short brown hair and stereotypical nerd clothing and accessories.
"Hi, I'm Bobby Smith. You're Robin Hill, right?" he seemed nice enough. However, I still wasn't sure.
"Yes?" I made it seem like a question. He seemed to notice.
"I'm the kid that's gonna be playing bass in your band. Don't worry, I don't bite." My face split into a smile. I knew what he said was genuine.
"Nice. Ok. So there's you, me, Joey, and who else?" I hoped it wasn't a Goth.
"He's just over there. Edward!" Bobby waved him over. My jaw dropped when Edward turned around.
He was a Goth.
"Hey, Eddie. Eddie this is Robin, Robin this is Eddie. He's the drummer for our group."
I took in Edward's appearance. He had jet black hair and wore a long coat. He wore a lot of leather and chains. No piercings luckily.
"Hello, Mr Manners said you would be in the band." He was very nice, which surprised me. I guess you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
"Hi. I guess we should have a band practice soon. I've got space in my garage so we could practice there. You'd have to bring your instruments and amps, though." I'd never thought I would be this excited about being in a band. I saw Joey out of the corner of my eye and called him over.
"Hey" he said after jogging over to us, but he only looked at me. Why?
"Hey, this is Bobby and Edward. They're our bassist and drummer. We were thinking about having a band practice soon. Would tomorrow be alright?" I was being nice because the other boys were still there.
They all nodded 'yes'. Good. This would be awesome!
"Ok. If you come 'round to mine at around four pm so you have enough time to get your equipment. I'll give you my address after school tomorrow. See you then." I walked towards the school. Oh boy, this will be fun.
School went fine the next day. Before I knew it, it was the end of the school day. I'd told the boys where my house was and made them remember to pick up their stuff.
I was nervously waiting for the boys to arrive. Who knew being in a band was so nerve racking?
I heard someone's car pull up. It was Bobby. I rushed out of the house to help him with his stuff and carried it to the garage. A few minutes later, Edward pulled up. I and Bobby both helped him carry his kit into the garage.
We waited a little while for Joey, but he came, right?
"Ok. So I think the first thing we should do is get to know each other. I think this will be good because otherwise we will know nothing about each other. Is that ok?" I really wanted to know the boys.
"I'll start. Hi I'm Bobby and I'm the bassist. I started playing bass when I was six so I've got lots of experience. I like the band Wild Cherry and my favourite song by them is 'Play That Funky Music' because of the bass line."
"Hi I'm Edward and I play the drums. I've been playing the drums professionally since I was nine. I like music by Alice Cooper and Silverstein. My favourite song by Alice Cooper is 'Poison' and I don't have a favourite Silverstein song because they're all my favourites."
"Hi I'm Robin and I'm the lead singer since Joey said that he can't sing. I also play the piano. I've been playing the piano since I was ten. I like Queen, U2, and The Beatles. I like a lot of their songs so I won't go through all of them."
"Hi I'm Joey. I feel like music is a way of saying something without saying anything at all. Music takes you to another place. It makes you feel like you're a different person. I play the guitar. I like Bon Jovi and Oasis."
We were all left speechless at the end of Joey's speech. It touched us all and it was 100% true. Finally I spoke up.
"Shall we do a list of all the songs we like? We do one each. I'll give you a piece of paper." I wanted to know what songs they liked.
I made a list of all the songs I liked

Also, the title had changed because I thought that it was a bit boring and rubbish. If nothing makes sense, please let me know. Thanks.
