Gently floating on a summer's breeze,
Twirling to the winds silent song,
Subtle caresses buoy them along,
As the dance happy and carefree.
A large object reaches for them,
Plucking them from their path,
Their innocent voyage suddenly ended,
As they are thrown to the ground.
A foot stomps down on them,
Breaking their soft and elegant forms,
They are crushed beneath a heel,
Never to dance or fly again.
A malevolent voice hisses harshly,
'These are your hopes and dreams,
Remember what will happen to them,
If you ever hope and dream again.
