gliding blade to blade,
a stereotypical tradition
like chocolate and flowers,
unlaced in chalets like this

relationship unraveling;
amounting to snow banks,
tripping through cracks
trying to cement block

these problems, confined
to lack of resolve, a
co-existence in existing,
paved to exact secrecy

layered like ice freezing
over ice, connected by
canals other than ears,
hearing the swish of lovers

a/n: there's a cliché tradition to skate on the canal on Valentine's Day in the city that I live.
