"I really think you're going to like this new house Jaylynn." my mother said as we drove up the long rocky driveway.
"Sure, whatever Mom."
She put the car in park and looked at me.
"Sweetheart please don't be like this, I know you'll just love it here."
"That's what you always say, and after a couple months we're just going to pack up and move again." I screamed angrily. My mom is a physic/medium and she helps earth bound spirits (note: ghosts) move on to the "light". We were always moving to where there was a high level of paranormal activity. I never had a normal life and I doubt I will.
As we started moving the boxes inside I kept having this weird feeling that someone was watching me, but my mom seemed perfectly fine. If anyone should be feeling something weird it should be her not me, she's the physic I'm not. So I just brushed it off and finished bringing the boxes in.
The house is beautiful. There are two stories, and a basement. On the first floor was the living room and kitchen, the second floor had my room, my mom's room, and one bathroom. I walked up the stairs and down the short hallway to my room. The walls were white and there was one window. The movers already moved all the furniture into the house, all that left was our possessions. When I was done unpacking my three boxes I went downstairs to help my mom. After two long hours we were finally finished.
"We are now officially unpacked!" exclaimed my mom as she hung our family portrait. I smiled at the picture, it reminded me of the good old days when my father was still alive. My dad and I were very close, he was always there for me when mom would go out on her haunting. It doesn't seem like he's been gone for five years.
"Jaylynn can you take these boxes down to the basement while I get dinner ready?" mom asked.
"Umm sure." I said a little uneasy. I grabbed the boxes and walked downstairs. The basement was the creepiest place in the entire house. My hand franticly searched for the light switch, and flicked it on. The dim light didn't make the place less creepy in fact it just added to its creepiness. Quickly I threw the boxes down and ran up the stairs, slamming the door behind me.
"Everything ok sweetheart?" asked my mom as she looked up from where she was cooking.
"Yeah just hungry."
"Good thing dinner is almost ready."
After I finished dinner I went upstairs and got ready for bed. Tucking myself in I slowly started to fall asleep. Just when I was almost asleep I felt a cold soft hand brush my face. I opened my eyes to see a tall dark haired guy standing over my bed. I sat up fast and tried not to scream, looking around my room I saw no trace of anyone being there. My feelings about this house were right, there is something paranormal about it. The only question I had was how come my mom didn't notice it?
