We sit in darkness, grasping for the light that warms our skin,

Longing for the relief from this endless abyss, but not finding it

Our heads are raised in pride, our hearts and minds closed.

But of course, we know everything. Or at least, we think we do

Is there an end to this madness? Will we ever truly find what we seek,

Ever finally grab hold of the light that has so long eluded us?

We are hidden, curled up in a corner of a vast universe,

But we don't know.

We don't know anything.
