"Let her go!" I pleaded. I needed to see Grace again. "Please." I added.
"Please?" The river god looked at me curiously. "You haven't used that word in awhile, Patrick." He chuckled. "But you must be more specific, which girl are you talking about exactly?"
Two bubbles raised from the water and two girls were shown inside. As I was about to scream for Grace I looked into the other bubble... Abigail. My heart suddenly torn in two.
The side that was in love with Abigail... and the rest of it knew how much love I held for Grace. "Abigail," I whispered.
"You want Abigail?" The river god asked.
"What? NO!" I yelled. Abigail looked at me with big eyes.
"You don't love me," Abigail stated.
"Yes, I do." I said back to her. "But I love Grace more."
Patrick could not hear me, I knew he couldn't. I didn't even try to speak as I saw him from a window of the white room. Abigail was on the other side looking through another window. "My dear," Abigail looked at me with sad eyes. "I had forgotten how much I loved him." She sighed. "You're going to want to hold your breath."
"Hold my," I started but water filled the room and I couldn't breath. Suddenly the water was gone and I was coughing and gasping for air.
"Gracie," A young voice yelled.
"Elliot?" I whispered with my eyes closed and to arms grasped my neck and hugged me softly. I began to open my eyes and Elliot was sitting over me. "I thought I lost you!" I hugged him.
"Grace," another voice cooed. "Are you alright?"
I looked up to see a man standing there. His eyes were a soft green and his hair was black and shaggy. "Who..."
"Grace, don't tell me you forgot me already," he chuckled slightly. "Here, let me help you," He helped me up and stared me in the eyes.
"Patrick?" I asked and he nodded.
"See, I knew you wouldn't have forgotten." He laughed again. "Gosh it feels so great," He picked me up and spun me around. "To no longer be a monster."
"Wait- so what happens to the other brother?" Elliot asked and Patrick and I stared at him. "What? The river dude told me everything. So what happened to your brother?"
"Well why don't you watch." Patrick turned Elliot to face the pond near the mansion. It now had become much brighter and turned into such a beautiful house.
"NO!" Patrick's brother yelled as a hand made of water grasped him and dragged him deep into the pond.
"He's gone." Patrick smiled and roughed up Elliot's hair. "We're all safe now."
He looked at me and his eyes suddenly got a nervous tint to them. "Grace, now that there's no danger or anything... maybe you'd like to join me in the mansion."
"Can I come too?" Elliot asked.
"Why of course!" Patrick laughed. "That is, if Grace says yes."
"Yes, oh definitely yes." I smiled and Patrick hugged me. "Hey Patrick," I whispered into his shoulder.
"I love you."
