Let the Pious Pay for Sin

Was it not said in the scriptures

That gluttony is sin?

Yet bishops, cardinals

Stuff their faces:

It is all God's will, they say.

Was it not said in the scriptures

That charity is just?

But members of the clergy

Covet lands and riches

That are not theirs

To lord over to this day!

Let the coins of gold and silver

In their fat paws burn their flesh.

Let their screams become a child's lullaby.

Let their Holy Water – wine – scald their throats

Like acid as they drink.

Let them prostrate themselves on the floor

Like servants in front of their master.

Show them what pain really is

Let them scream, let them beg for mercy.

For who are they to say God's will

When He does not speak to them.
