Sweet little boy

An angel to the eyes of us mortals

And a perfect specimen to the eyes of the gods

Blue-eyed and blonde

Dark-eyed and brunette

A Jewish girl,

And a Catholic boy,

Who was meant to be one soldier among many in a line

I hold my menorah to my racing heart

And in proud German style,

You raise your arm in a slant to the sky

As the blood is shed and the menorah is thrown

The Star of David that once dangled from my neck,

Drowns in the river of tears we've made

Sweet little boy,

Are a sweet little Catholic boy

And you need not be exposed to this hurt

I'll take it for you

A Jewish girl wishing for the best for that little boy

Who I've not seen since the bright gas from Hell came
