Hand in mine I stare into the eyes,
Of a heart that will never truly be mine.
I clench my fingers, and close my eyes,
To the lips which press, so soft, so kind.
How is it you can smile as you tear apart my life?
How is it you can look so calm when you break another's mind?
I only wish for one who cares,
yet am lead away by my own dark fears-
fears given truth by knowledge of the years,
fears given light by words I no longer hear.
This stupidity is the death of my eyes,
This loss of integrity leaves me broken and blind.
