The Fallen Frost

The diamond drops of shining sleet

That fall to Earth and hope they might

Lay peaceful at all creatures' feet

And settle silent in the night

Each crystal bead alone unique

Will lay together on the ground

Yet man who sees and feels and speaks

Has time for war and conflict found

As different as each icy drop

They still join ranks to sustain life

But can man see to put a stop

To fear and hate and endless strife?

If ice so cold can bond as one

Then why are souls so warm alone?
