Epiphany

God spoke to me on an empty beach at sunrise. He asked me why I was here. I told him I wanted to come. He asked me why, and I told him I wanted to escape. He asked me what I wanted to escape from. I told it was pain. He asked me who was hurting me. I told him it was society. He asked me why I let society hurt me, and I told him I was scared to let go. He asked me why I was afraid. I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. My creator only nodded and out at the waves breaking against our silence.

God spoke to me on an empty beach at sunrise. He asked me why I was here. I didn't say a word.
