I walk past their gloating faces,

judgment easy to see.

but today it doesnt matter,

no- today they can't hurt me.

I still hear their twisted insults,

still feel their numbing kicks.

but today it doesn't matter,

no- I've learnt all their tricks.

They steal my coats and sweaters,

leaving my scars clear.

but today it doesn't matter,

no- I won't shed a tear.

They push me to the ground,

calling me that awful name.

But today it doesn't matter,

no- I won't hide in shame.

I climb up to the rooftop,

I just need a friend.

but today it doesn't matter,

no- today will be the end.

They try to get me down,

yelling up against the gate.

but today it doesn't matter,

no- their apologies are late.

I leap off of the tall rooftop,

my body taking flight.

but today it doesn't matter,

no- today I'm finally right.

I can't see anything,

there is no single sound.

but today it doesnt matter,

no- I'm dead upon the ground.
