Oh my goodness. I'm soooo sorry, I haven't been able to update in a while, because of my final exams. I'm really sorry. Anyways here's the next chapter. I hope you guys like it

Chapter 4

It had been my first day at school after the accident, and everyone had been really nice to me. Don't get me wrong, I love attention, but not that kind of attention. I hate pity, which was what most of them showed me. But finally the day was over, and Mel and I were heading for the Mall.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Melanie whined.

"Mel, that was like a week ago, please calm down," I said.

She looked like her eyes were about to pop out of her head, "calm down? My best friends ex did some serious damage to her, and you want me to calm down?" Her voice went a pitch higher, if that was even possible.

I sighed, "See? This is why I didn't tell you. I knew you'd overreact. Oh we're here."

We were in my car; thankfully they were absolutely positive that the accident wasn't on my account. I pulled into a space at the parking lot, and we got out of the car.

"So, where do we start?" It had been a long time since we had gone out shopping, like really shopping. I suddenly remembered a small store on second floor.

"Do you remember the small store, we found last time we were here?"

"Oh, yeah, what was its name? It was French I think. Fantastique or something."

"Well, why don't we start there?" I suggested.

"Sounds good to me," she said, linking her arm through mine.

Two hours later we were relaxing at a Starbucks. I was enjoying my mango smoothie, while Mel was eating a giant chocolate chip cookie.

"So, what are you doing this weekend?" I asked her.

"Nothing, I think."

"Great! Kevin is coming to town, so I thought we could go to our 'secret base'" she grinned at my air-quoting, "I would love that, how about I bring my Pirates of The Caribbean – movies along."

"You've always been able to read my mind," I said smiling.

"What can I say? I got skills!" she laughed, and so did I. She looked in her bag for a second, and taking the chance, I grabbed the rest of her cookie, and stuffed it into my mouth.

"Kath, where is my cookie?"

"Whaf?" I asked, trying not to make it too obvious that I was eating something. She looked at me suspiciously, and I tried with an easy smile. It wasn't a success, though. It actually became a sort of a very grim facial expression. Figures, it would really give me away if I gave her a full smile.

She jumped up and began tickling me. I screamed and laughed, while I tried to hit or kick her, to make her stop.

We agreed to meet at the base Friday at six o'clock, she would bring the movies plus some dinner, and Kevin and I would bring breakfast, snacks and soft drinks.

After the mall, I went to the gym, and started doing my stretches. My muscles ached to be used, but I knew I had to take it slow because of the accident. I went outside and started running the track. When I had run about 3 miles, I came to a halt, because I saw something or someone in the shadow of a tree. I jogged over to the tree, and thought I saw Oliver standing under some branches. But when I came closer, I realized that it was just some sort of trick my eyes were doing, making it look like Oliver stood there. I began running again, but when I looked over my shoulder, I swear I saw him standing, looking after me with a thoughtful expression in his eyes. When I came back to the gym, after running, I went to work on lifting weights. I did push-ups and such for about an hour, before I packed my bag and went home.

When I got home, I went straight to my room, and got into the bathroom that was connected to my room. I got into the shower, and let the hot water flow down my back, loosening for the tensions in my sore muscles. I sighed happily, as I got out of the shower and went to put on some comfy clothes, putting my hair up in a loose bun.

"Flight AA1437 from Boston will arrive in a few minutes at gate 5."

Pheeew, I made it. 15 minutes later I saw a person coming towards me, realizing it was Kevin, I shouted out loud in joy, ran over and tackled him to the ground, effectively knocking all of the air out of his lungs. I laughed, hadn't felt this happy since the accident.

"Umph," I looked down, "Oopsie," I mouthed.

"I really don't believe that you didn't plan this attack all the way to the airport," he said, looking at me.

I smiled angelically down at him, before jumping to my feet pulling him with me. "Whatever, do you mean, dear friend?" I asked all innocently.

But I could feel my eyes glisten with amusement, and knew he could see it too. He shot me a glance that said 'seriously?' while picking up his luggage. I took his bag, and we made our way to my car.

"We have to make a quick stop at the mall. Mel is bringing the movies and dinner, so we have to get snacks, soft drinks and breakfast," I said.

Kevin smiled, "fine with me."

At the mall we made our way to a small grocer. Unfortunately, some of the girls from the school came out from one of the stores. Well, hell!

"Hi Kevin," Anastasia said with a flirting smile.

"Good day to you as well, Anastasia," he said, being totally serious and NOT-flirting.

She turned her attention to me, "Katherine, you don't mind if I borrow Kevin for second, do you." She said it like it wasn't a question, but a simple fact. Kevin looked helplessly at me, when Anastasia began to drag him with her. Louise and Laura followed closely.

"You know what? Actually, I do."

"What?" she seemed totally shocked that I answered her non-question. Kevin looked at me like I was his saving angel.

"You heard me," I sneered. "Now let him go!"

She looked at me for a long time, and then she smiled, "It will only take a minute," she assured.

"Well," I smirked, and continued in a sugar-sweet voice, "That is one minute too long. Now, if you'll excuse us, I usually don't socialize with bitches, and I want to keep it that way."

With that, I grabbed Kevin's hand, and walked over to the grocer. Anastasia, Louise and Laura were just standing there, gaping at me.

About an hour later we were at "our place" as we liked to call it. Well, actually it was a small cabin in the outskirts of the forest. Kevin's dad owned the place, he was extremely rich, and thought it would be nice for Kevin to have a place to live, when he was in Rose Bay. It kind of just sort of became our place where we hung out.

Mel and I even had a spare key. We rarely used it though; we didn't visit the place when Kevin wasn't in town. Kevin and I got out of the car; he got his bags, while I got the food.

Once we were inside I called, "Mel, we're here." I wasn't surprised, she couldn't hear me; she was listening to music, and I had reason to think that she couldn't play any louder. I walked into the living room, and smiled at the sight, mattresses, blankets and pillows were all over the floor, in front of the TV. I went to the kitchen, and a delicious smell met me.

I sniffed and yelled, "Oh My Goodness, Mel, it smells awesome. You definitely got some kitchen-skills."

"Why, thank you," she yelled back, then she realized the meaning of me being here, and screamed, "Kevin!"

She ran out of the kitchen, leaving me with the food, not a wise decision. What can I say, I have a great appetite. I tiptoed over to the table and looked in the oven, and saw a pizza, yummy! I looked at the table and noticed a half empty box of pepperonis. Now that would be awful, if they weren't going to be eaten. My fingers sneaked forward, and I was about to take a pepperoni, when I heard someone cough by the door. I whirled around to see Kevin and Mel standing in the door.

"Kath, you weren't about to eat the pepperonis, were you?" Mel asked.

"Nope," I popped the 'p'.

Kevin snorted. "I can't believe you guys don't believe me," I said trying to sound offended. Then I took a handful of pepperonis and ran towards them. I must have caught them by surprise, because neither of them reacted, before it was too late. I climbed up the ladder to the second floor, pulling it with me, and then I sat in the opening and looked at their attempts to get to me while eating pepperonis.

"Kath, come down here now." "Stop eating those!" "Your stomach's going to kill you tomorrow." They tried everything. When I was done eating, I jumped down, before doing a ninja-trick that made the ladder come down.

So there you go. Hate it? Love it? Criticism? Please review. I don't know if I should continue posting, if I don't get any reviews. I feel like no one's reading my story, and it makes me kinda sad, because I put a lot of work in my chapters. So, again, please review.
