Spring

In the back of your closet where sandals lay discarded

Buried in boots and sweaters, coats and worries of winter

Hides that whisper that sings from the faded edges of tan lines

Garnered in the rising temperatures and the rising sun

And calls you forward

Thawing the numbness that you hadn't noticed set in

Until you remembered how to feel pretty again

And your laughter returned breaking free

Of woolen hoods into the peace of dawn
