I'm sorry that I'm such a disappointment

That you don't understand how hard I try

To make you happy

All you're ever going to do is tell me I'm a disgrace

But still I say this, just incase

Tell me you love me, mom

If even for a moment, hold me in your arms

And say you're proud of me for who I am

Show me that I'm still your precious little gem

Prove that you don't mean those cold words you say

And tell me you wish things between us could be any other way

You wonder what's wrong with me

So I roll my eyes and shut my door to keep you out

Everyone but you can see

That I want is for you to be here with me

Let me tell me you I love you mom

If even for a moment, let me hold you in my arms

Say you're proud of who I am

And I'll tell you you're like a precious little gem

I'll prove I don't mean the cold words that I say

And tell you that I wish things between us could be any other way

I wonder if you'll ever come along

If you'll always be like this, or if one day you'll just be gone

The things you say make me cry

And just so you know, I tried

But the words you say break me to pieces

And I can't go on trying to put together broken pieces that will never be fixed

So before I give up completely

Before I say that you're a disgrace

I'll tell you this, just in case:

I loved you mom

Before you broke me and my family

And if even for one last moment, I'd let you hold me in your arms

I'd appreciate if you said you're proud of me for who I am

If you said that you're sorry and that you love me for who I am

If you said we shouldn't mean all the cold words we say

And tell me you wish things between us could have be any other way

I'd listen, but sadly I'd have to say

"I wish I could forgive you, but now I have to go away"
