There was once a place where I once called home

A faraway fairytale memory's outgrown

A place to belong with a family tree

And people around me who loved me for me

A smile and arms that said "everything's alright"

But those days are gone too far out of sight

No blood to bind or word to keep

No rose coloured glasses of wakened sleep

Someone's gone and chopped down my family tree

All that's left is a scaffold where a twig used to be
