Epilogue

Veronica opened her eyes and smiled as Nagano returned her smile with his own.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Veronica sat up in bed and stretched as Keiko entered the room.

"What are you doing in here? Do you not realize that it is bad luck to see the bride before the wedding." She started to push Nagano out of the door.

"But I could not sleep." He whined, giving her a pout.

"Of course not! You are not supposed to sleep the night before your nuptials. Now get out of here, Chica is waiting for you in the den."

Nagano's face lit up at her words. "Chica's here?"

Keiko nodded. "Now go."

She watched the young man race down the hall way with a smile. He had changed so much over the past six months and now he was getting married. She dried her eyes on her handkerchief as she closed the door. She had hoped for this day, never really expecting it to come and now that it was here, she wanted to cherish every moments of it.

"Now then young lady. Your turn." She turned to Veronica with a glint in her eye. When she was done with her, The child would be the most beautiful bride there had ever been.

"Umm..." Veronica stepped back from Keiko as she moved forward. "I can..."

The door opened once more, this time revealing Celia carrying her son.

"Good morning. I have come to help." She gave the ladies a smile.

Veronica smiled with relief that Celia would be there to help her on this day. She went over to view the sleeping child.

"How are you doing?" She asked as she watched Nagano's godson sleep.

Celia gave her as smile. "I could not be happier. He is a little prince."

"I am sure he is spoiled like one too." Keiko commented as she started in on the preparations.

"And who does most of the spoiling I wonder?" Celia spoke with a smile. Keiko and Sebastian were the doting grandparents if she had ever seen some. Between them and Asami's parents, her children would never be without love.

Keiko did not reply as she continued working.

Veronica opened the door and looked out at the woods with a sigh. "I wish we could have children." She commented to no one in particular.

The night that Nagano had asked her to be his wife, he had first sat her down and explained how children were made and why he would never be able to give her her own.

"There is always adoption." Celia smiled and handed her sleeping son over to Veronica. "Not to mention Godchildren."

Veronica smiled back. She was so fortunate to be loved by such a wonderful man and surround by such wonderful people.

"Are you two done talking yet. We have to get this child ready, Master Nagano is not a patient man."

"Aye. We are ready for you to take charge." Celia commented with a smile.

Nagano opened the door to the study and stared at his friend a bit worried with what he saw. They had spoken many times over the phone since Chica's sudden move, but he had not seen Chica and what he saw made him worried. Chica had lost weight since he had left.

"Do not say anything about my weight." Chica stopped Nagano's words with a hand. "I am well aware that I have lost a bit." He gave Nagano a smile. "But do not worry. I will gain it back in time."

"Are you... Are you doing all right, really?" Nagano asked his friend. He had not been real large to begin with and Nagano was certain that he would be able to count Chica's ribs if he looked.

"I will be fine. Today is about you and your young lady. Not me. Congratulations. I am truly happy for you two. You deserve this more then anyone."

Nagano took his friend by the shoulders and drew him into a big hug. "I have missed you."

"As have I." Chica returned Nagano's hug with one of his own. "I have not seen my old friend for many years now. It is good to have you back."

"I am glad to be back."
