My Eternal Nightmare

Dark.

Pitch black.

I see nothing

Except a lock.

Shining silver in the dark.

There are no windows.

There are no doors.

There is no way out.

Just a lock.

I run to it.

Then I hear the laugh.

Cruel

Heartless

Taunting

Teasing,

HIS laugh.

Then I see the eyes.

Beautiful

Lovely

Impossibly gorgeous

Green eyes.

HIS eyes.

I was wrong.

There is a window.

And it shows

HIM.

My worst nightmare.

My kidnapper.

The one who took me here.

I am filled with hatred

With anger

For those eyes.

I grab the lock.

I tug

I pull.

He laughs harder.

I yank

I scream in frustration.

It only makes him howl in laughter.

I

Can

Not

Breathe

Think

Feel

Nothing but fear.

The bones in my hand snap.

I cry

I sob

I scream

He laughs

He grins

He smirks

He has won.

I fade

Into darkness.

Before I wake up

He smiles

He whispers something.

Something soft.

Something quiet.

I may never know what it is.

I can never hear it.

It fades into the darkness,

Along with him.
