Day 26

Today was Friday. Everything was back to normal. No more fighting, backstabbing or anything. It was another end to a great week.

"Hey Charlotte," said Julia walking up to me. "Do you want to come into town with us today?"

I made a face, along with a depressing sound. "I can't. I have dance, but I will definitely come next week."

"Okay. I understand. See you on Monday," she said, giving me a big bear hug. As she walked away, the rest of the group followed, Liam, Ben, Izzy, Perry, Grace, including some new ones, Miranda and Ryan. Ryan was a sixth grader. No one knew why he was tagging along. Finally, a happy picture. I sauntered to my mom's car, full of hope and happiness. The feuds were over- besides me and Grace, but that's another story. I saw them walk to the 7/11 with arms around each other. And that was the last I saw them until Monday.

I came back from dance that night exhausted out of my mind. I was ready to shower, and go straight to bed. My plains changed when Julia called.

"Charlotte!" I thought she said. I couldn't identify what she was saying. All I could hear was sobbing, more sobbing than the time she found out about One Direction.

"Shhhh…slow down. What happened?" She was scaring me.

"Grace," she bawled angrily. "That fucking slutty bitch-whore!" Well who didn't see that coming?

"Okay. Calm down. It's okay. Sh," I said, trying to get the story out of her. Julia kept on crying, but she calmed down. "What happened?"

She took a second and gathered her thoughts. "It's not okay, Charlotte. So," she started.

All of the people who I had seen go into town with our group went. They all first went to "the rock". The rock is exactly what it sounds like. It's just a rock that happens to be next to the train station in the middle of town. Surrounding is a bunch of thick and branch-full trees. The branches are very strong, but look too frail. We all like to hang out on them for some reason. The rock is sometimes called "the kissing rock", where teenagers go and make out on it. Anyway, it's a nice place to just chill, and be kids.

Perry and Julia were sitting on the rock while Calvin, Grace and Liam were all in one of the trees. Izzy and Miranda were just standing on the ground. It was a perfect moment, where you were surrounded by friends, and nothing was going wrong.

"Hey Julia," Calvin said.

"Yeah?" she replied.

"Can I wear your sunglasses?"

She took off her awesome multicolored sunglasses from the top of her head and threw them to Calvin, sitting in the tree. He caught them, almost missing, and put them on.

"How do I look?" he asked, making a face.

"Like a boss!" she said smiling. He smiled back.

Calvin jumped out of the tree and leaned against the rock, Grace doing the same exact thing, just to be closer to him. "So Calvin," Grace said "sweetly". "Want to go to Wendy's with me?" As she said this, Grace was putting her arms around Calvin as if they were slow dancing. Julia's face was frozen, watching this happen right before her. "Yeah," he replied smiling.

He took off the glasses. "Here, Julia," he said, throwing them at her feet. "Uh, thanks," she answered, lacking emotion.

"Hey! I want to come!" sang Izzy and Miranda. The both ran after Grace and Calvin, walking hand in hand to the fast food place. Julia watched them. She took out one of Grace's many binders and obtained a piece of paper. She began writing. Writing was always a thing that let her escape reality. It was always there for her. It was her thing. She wrote:

"Summer was only yesterday, the time of our lives. I miss you. But I know you'll never miss me again like I miss you. I love you. But I know you'll never love me again like you did. I see you-"

She wrote how this was tearing her apart.

"Julia, stop, they're coming," hollered Perry. She was the only one who stayed with Julia. She left Grace's binder open. Calvin in front of Grace ran past Julia and Perry, into the train station nearby.

"They're going to make out! They're going to make out!" cried Liam.

"Here," Julia said, tossing him her cell phone. "Take a picture." Julia didn't know why she was torturing herself. She guessed that she needed a way to tell herself that this was really happening. She needed a reason to cry.

Perry and Julia heard Ryan, the sixth grader, shout. "What happened?" asked Julia.

"They made out! They kissed!"

She went to see Izzy, looking pissed as ever and Miranda following.

"They kissed." Those words coming out of her mouth felt like bullets.

"I know. I'm going home. I'm going to kill her!" exclaimed Izzy.

Julia looked at the other side of the train station and saw them coming out. She remembered Grace's binder was still open to the page of writing.

"Shit!" she shouted. Julia ran back to see Calvin hopping on his bike. She knew that he would want to get out of there fast.

Julia and Calvin had a bet to see who would kiss someone first. They called it their lipginety. "I heard you won the bet," Julia said.

"No," he denied. "No I didn't."

"Liar," Julia said nonchalantly. She grabbed Grace's binder and closed it. Perry then said, "Rip the paper out so she won't see it."

"No. She deserves to feel bad." Julia regretted putting the binder back in her bag. She should have left it on the rock. On the other side of it, she heard a fight in progress.

"Get pregnant when you're sixteen! I don't care!" Miranda yelled.

"It's my freaking life! You don't choose what I do!" Grace screeched back.

"That's not right! You don't cry over your boyfriend one day and kiss another guy the next!" Izzy bellowed at her.

Julia stood there with no words. She couldn't. Tears would fall too quickly, and everyone would know how much Calvin still meant to her.

"Just calm your tits down!" Ryan said. They still didn't know why he was there.

"Get pregnant when you're sixteen, Grace no one gives a fuck!" Miranda said again.

"I'm not getting pregnant!" Grace cried back. Julia couldn't stand this. She had to get out of there. Perry saw Julia's distress and walked home with her. They heard the fighting from a mile away.

The sixth grader then shouted out, "Calvin has enough stuff to go around!"

Julia was crying her eyes out. She wanted to be alone. As she was in one of the lowest moments of her young life, she texted Grace:

"Their right grace. Don't do that. Cry over one guy one day and kiss another then next. How the fuck do you think I feel when both of you fucking knew about this and you still fucking do it. Yesterday I felt bad about what happened to you but I was so stupid to. I knew this was happen and I was so stupid to come. Thank You for breaking my heart."

She hit send without any regret in her heart.

"Oh my g-d," I said. I was speechless. "She kissed him? Knowing that you still have strong feelings for him?" There was a ruffle on the other side of the phone. "Did you just nod your head?" The same sound occurred again. "That's my girl," I said trying to lighten things up. That's just what I do. Living life sad isn't fun.

"Are you done crying?"

"A little bit. But now Calvin wins that bet we made, my true feelings came out, and Grace got what she wanted. She got what she originally wanted. Why does she always get what she wants?" Julia spoke softly.

"Oh sweetie," I said. "That's because she's a prostitute. Prostitutes always get what they want," I assumed in a baby voice. Julia giggled a bit. That was the first time I heard her giggle or laugh in a long time.

"Okay," I said. "This is what I'm going to do. Are you listening?" The exact ruffling sound came through the phone. "I'm going to first let you continue writing, because I know that you are doing that right now. Then I'm going to let you be by yourself and deal with this in your own way. Then once that doesn't work out, I'm going to go beat up Grace and Calvin. How does that sound?" I said happily.

"Yeah!" Julia said in a little kid voice, happy to hear my plan.

"Wow, you never agree to that last part," I said.

"Why not," Julia replied. She continued to laugh.

"Bye girlee."

"See ya tomorrow Charlotte," she said, still laughing hard. At least I got her to be high in spirits again.

Day 27

My phone rang loudly that morning. It was Julia.

"What broke?" I asked weakly.

"Other than my heart, nothing. I just wanted to tell you what happened after the…thing. So he texted me off of Simon's phone," she started.

Day 28

The next day at school was okay. Nothing spectacular, but nothing horrible. Julia called me later that night to tell me about the amazing day she had with Calvin.

Everyone went into town as one big happy group. Perry, Calvin, Julia, Liam and Miranda, another friend, went to the rock.

All of the girls were sitting on the rock. Liam then said, "Hey! Let's play king of the rock!"

Liam and Calvin jumped on the rock and pushed all of them off, including Julia. Most of them struggled to get back up, but Liam kept on pushing them down.

"Oh screw you, Liam!" Perry and Miranda sang in unison, as they tried to get back up.

"Ah," said Liam. "I love you guys, too."

"Julia, do you want to come up?" asked Calvin sweetly. Julia nodded. She climbed up the side and he gave her his hand to help Julia. Everyone thought that it was really weird, but it was them two. Julia thought that it was amazing. And to him, it was probably an act, which broke her heart, but at the same time, she loved it.

Anyway, she was on the rock lying down on a hard stone, and he was swinging on a tree branch that hung over. She looked at him. Calvin looked right back. They both smiled at each other. He let go of the branch and lied next to her, their faces level to each other. Julia then ruined the moment by saying, "This is awkward." Calvin laughed hard and sat up.

"I like awkward situations," he said smiling. That was an inside joke between them. The night before they both said that Julia and Grace were awkward situations. So when he said that, Julia was gleaming. Liam was also smiling at Julia, knowing her feelings on him.

That night Calvin, Liam, Perry and Julia went to the quads' house waiting to be picked up. The four of them walked home together and the one thing on Julia's mind, that say was the first time she heard Calvin call Grace a whore.

They all went their separate ways. At about 8 o'clock, Julia got a text from Calvin saying, "My jacket smells like you."

Day 29

Julia, Calvin, Izzy and I were taking a saunter in the park.

"Koalas are awesome," said Calvin.

"I know right? I mean-." I stopped quickly. We all halted in our tracks. I don't know if I was on drugs, but I saw Grace walking toward us with some new eye candy on her arms.

"You see it, too? It's not just me, Julia?" asked Izzy worried.

She approached us. "Hey Calvin, other people, this is my boyfriend, Kyle." All of our jaws dropped so hard that there was a hole to the center of the earth.

"You're kidding, right?" I asked. She stood there, giving me attitude.

"What?" she asked innocently.

"So this is your new pimp?" asked Calvin. We all started to giggle and smirk. She gave him a dirty look.

"What do you think of him?" she questioned.

"I think that you two look cute, in fact, dare I say adorable. Hang on to her, Kyle, she's a real keeper," he said. I looked at Kyle. I could tell that he was uncomfortable.

"You mean that you don't have a desire to get rid of Kyle?"

"Not even slightly," Calvin replied with a smile on his face. Kyle then looked at Grace, pissed off his mind. I think he understood her plan.

Grace looked crushed, defeated. Lately, she's had that look on her face all the time. I guess because we were always so good at defeating her. She gazed around the area.

"I told you, Grace. I don't like you anymore. I have absolutely no lingering feelings. I told you this several times. You have to get used to the idea."

"Wait," Kyle finally said. "You used to date this kid?" Grace seemed to be in repentance. She nodded her head. "And you are using me to make him jealous?"

"You know, let's go. I don't like these people anyway," Grace said, trying to take the fight away from Calvin. They jogged away to a little area.

"Wow," contributed Julia. In the distance, we heard Grace and Kyle arguing.

"You know what? We're done!" Kyle barked. He ran away furious. Grace stood there, watching him go, then glared back at us. We turned around and stated to snicker. As we strolled away, the laughter became louder.

"Did she really get a boyfriend just to make you jealous?" exclaimed Julia, still laughing her butt off.

"Oh my g-d, she is hilarious!" said Calvin, laughing so hard he couldn't speak.

We continued to laugh and walk, walk and laugh. At one point, we fell from the laughing. We couldn't stand anymore, our sides were hurting.

This was a very fun day.

Day 30

That day, everything went back to normal. Everyone was friends. No more fighting, backstabbing, just ordinary. The sun was shining, blue skies, not a single dark cloud in sight.

We all went into town, Izzy, Julia, Liam, Ben, Calvin, Grace, Perry, Miranda, Jason, Ethan and I. We walked in with arms around each other, stepping with the same foot. That didn't last long. It quickly became a big tangled mess.

Trying to fix the pattern, we slowly crossed the street, and then sped to the gazebo. On the railing we all sat. Only Grace and Perry sat on the actual seats.

Julia and I were playing with Jason's hair, while Grace and Jason were playing with Calvin's hair.

Izzy, Grace, Perry, Ben, and Miranda were on the floor playing a hand game. As the others lost, they created their own circle. Eventually it came between Izzy and Perry.

Liam was doing stunts on his bike with Simon, who arrived shortly after we nested.

Ethan then had a brilliant plan, to throw Simon. So, we all snuck up on him, grabbing his hands and feet. He really likes to squirm.

"ONE, TWO, THREE!" everybody shouted as Simon flew through the sky, and landed with a thud.

"Okay, you guys are next," he said in revenge. He chased all of the girls into a circle. He then sang ennie-meenie-minie-moe to find his victim.

After three verses of it, we all got bored and walked away. Simon stood there, pretending to be sad.

Everyone back in the gazebo, Julia was resting on Calvin, Izzy was on Liam, I was on Jason, Ethan was on Simon, Ben was on Perry, and Miranda was on Grace.

This day was going to be one to remember, where everything was just right. It was a day when you are with all of your best friends, just hanging out, being together. I looked around to see eleven happy smiling people. There was nothing better than to be surrounded by my friends. The disputes were in the past. This was what it was always supposed to be like, friendship.

Epilogue

A few months went by before hearing anything major about the famous Calvin.

"You're going out with Calvin?" exclaimed Julia.

"Yeah. He's hot, and we have the same birthday. That's kind of the only reason," said Jessica, the only innocent eighth grader in our school, until now. She was the only one who we seventh graders look up to.

"Even though you've heard all that he's done, you still want to go out with him?"

"Yeah," she replied, as if Julia were stupid. Jessica knew everything that he did to Julia, every single little detail. She knew what kind of person he was. And yet, she was his girlfriend because they had the same birthday. Unbelievable.

Later that week, Ethan and Liam's district soccer team had a party for the end of the fall season. Julia tagged along to the party, hoping that Calvin would be there.

She developed a crush on his older brother, by a year, named James. He was still hung up on his ex-girlfriend, Nicole. She knew that it would be a long shot, but she still stuck with it for a while. Everyone thought many of those two. They came out of a bush, both faces tomato red. Every person playing manhunt thought that they made out. Calvin was very friendly to Julia that night. He kept on hugging her and being very protective against his brother. He wanted her because he couldn't have her. From what Julia told me, James was a perfect gentleman. He kept her warm, since it was December.

Months passed and Calvin remained just Calvin. Julia still had the fun texting sessions with him. She still likes him, but not as much as she did on day one. They were just friends. Nothing more than friends. And she knows it will never be anything more.

Author's Note:

All of this was based on real life events. "Calvin" went away for a while. He then came back four months later and thought that everyone's life woud stop just because he left. He started to ruin everything. Calvin is now gone for good. We think. Julia now has a wonderful boyfriend and regrets wasting a whole entire miserable year on Calvin. She realizes how bad he was. Congradulations to you and your new boyfriend Julia, if you're reading this. and finally...
Happy one year anniversary to Julia and Calvin!

{I told you to stay away from him}
