At the end of the day,
The sun sinks into the sky.
The colors were children,
Alive and bright-eyed.
The lake is the glass,
Reflecting their play.
How gorgeous this close,
This end of the day.
The clouds were the pillows,
For each child to rest.
Ready to sleep,
Now so colorfully dressed.
I look at the world
And see all the lights.
I think of that day,
But more of that night.
The night the fireworks came to be.
It was such a wonderful sight to see.
Where did they come from,
Where did they go,
Where they going there fast,
Or where they going slow.
I look at the world
And see all the lights
The fireworks had stopped
And all was quiet that clear, clear night
Last night, while I lay thinking here
Some Whatifs crawled inside my ear
And pranced and partied all night long
And sang their same old Whatif song:
Whatif I go to jail?
Whatif I get eaten by a whale?
Whatif I eat too much pie?
Whatif I turn into a crazy guy?
Whatif I could live in New York?
Whatif I was a dork?
Everything seems swell and then
The nighttime Whatifs strike again.
I serve the ball with power; he hits it back to me
Ping pong hong dong that's the sound it makes
I hope you know what you're doing, don't make a mistake
One thing to remember, don't hit your knee; that would be silly
Whoever gets to twenty-one wins the game
Please don't be silly, this is a serious match
What are you doing, don't you know you can't catch
Whoever wins the tournament gets in the hall of fame
Love on Valentine's Day.
Love is the color of red, pink, and white.
Love smells like the secret scent of pine
Love sounds like kites blowing the cool, crisp air.
Love taste like candy that has the world's sweetest sugar in it.
Love looks like smoothly cut paper hearts.
Love feels like stepping on warm, soft sand.
Love is all these things and more.
Tell the person you love that today. Don't let it slip away.
