Betty was wheeled in through the halls, feeling a little bit ridiculous. She wore a hospital gown, and was hooked up to the IV. "It will all be over soon." A man's voice assured her. Betty just sighed in reply, trying not to fall asleep. Boy, that medicine sure was making her drowsy!
As the lights passed by her, two by two at a time, Betty started to grow dizzy. The medicine had started to kick in, slowly making its way around her body. It was slow at first, but Betty knew it was there. That evil medicine was changing her, leaving her unable to move. Finally, when it went to her head, where she couldn't even flicker her eyes.
"The patient's been paralyzed!" Another doctor said. Betty looked straight up. The lights continued to go on and on, showing they were still walking down the hallway. They had walked for a short distance before turning to the left.
The wheeled her into the room, where Betty only saw various equipment. It was a room that was filled with many horrors, that was sure. Then, a man in scrubs switched Betty from the wheeling table to the operating table. Like before, she was locked into place by shackles.
"Hmmm," said a man. His voice was deep and long, leaving Betty nervous. He sounded arrogant and cocky, laughing, "The girl will be fine. Just a few enhancements here and there, nothing more than a checkup, if you will." Betty couldn't speak. Again, the medicine prevented her from doing so. Still, she wanted to yell, "Stop! I don't trust y'all! Please, just let me go!"
But she couldn't. She was defenseless.
For this whole time, she had been fighting the drowsiness. Now, the doctor stared into her eyes. This was the first time she had seen the doctor. He wore blue scrubs and glasses. His skin was olive, and his eyes were bright yellow. She wanted to slap him. He seemed like a bastard.
Betty wanted to scream. She imagined her brother, Dijon, giving him a nice solid punch smack-dab in his nose. Betty tried to smile at her own joke. Again, the joys of being temporarily paralyzed. The doctor then shined a flashlight in the girl's eyes, making sure she wouldn't be able to move during the surgery.
He flashed a grin, then said shortly, "Let's start."
