"Mama, " said a piglet to a sow,

"what is love?"

The sow replied, "A bed of fresh manure,

the way the farmer slops us

out of simple kindness,

and the way he's been feeding me extra

so I'm not obliged to eat you.

Love is fat, dear, fat and comfortable."

"Mama," said an eaglet to an eagle,

"what is love?"

The eagle replied, "A quick kill,

not playing with your food,

and a nest so high up you'll soar

when I push you out.

Love is swift, dear, swift and harsh."
