Chapter 6: Bloody Nile

In Egypt, Derrick Whitman, age 30, was exploring a pyramid with his colleagues. Bridget Mills, one of his assistants, walked to his side and asked, "Professor, what exactly are we trying to find here?"

"A secret passage. It was said that pharaohs made them to conceal their bodies and treasures."

"Are you sure there's a passage in this pyramid? I mean other archeologists have searched this pyramid and found nothing."

Derrick stopped in his tracks and sighed.

"I know that, but I just have a gut feeling that there is something here."

Derrick suddenly came up with an idea and pulled out his cell phone. He dialed a long number making Bridget confused.

"Who are you calling?"

Derrick smirked and said, "My travel agent, so he can get a friend of mine over here."

Back in Japan, Hatori was walking in the street with Kurosagi, who was eating a bag of oatmeal cookies. Hatori carried a bag of groceries as he glanced down at Kurosagi.

"Exactly why did you want to go shopping with me?"

"I needed the exercise and I wanted to get some ingredients for my cookies."

"You're going to get a cavity and most of the groceries are yours, so carry some."

"No," stated Kurosagi bluntly as she munched on her cookies. Hatori groaned. Kurosagi suddenly stopped in her tracks making Hatori confused.

"Kurosagi?"

Kurosagi stepped forward toward a dead orange cat. Hatori cringed when he saw it.

"Looks like it was run over," said Hatori. Kurosagi picked it up by the tail making Hatori gasp. Before Hatori could say anything else, Kurosagi tossed the dead animal on top of the groceries. Hatori gasped and screamed, "What the Hell, Kurosagi?"

"I just need it to make new ashes."

Kurosagi walked ahead of Hatori. Hatori held his breath as he walked trying to ignore the dead animal in front of his face.

Kurosagi and Hatori entered her office. Kurosagi dumped her bag on the floor. She looked at Hatori, who was slowly turning blue, and demanded for the dead animal. Hatori pushed the corpse into her small hands and then dumped the groceries on the floor next to her bag gasping for air. Kurosagi flung the dead animal over her shoulders and headed to a door to the left.

"Where are you going now?" asked Hatori. Kurosagi glanced back at him and stated, "To my Corpse Lab."

"Corpse Lab? I remember you mentioned it before, but I have never seen it."

Kurosagi smirked and invited him to follow her. Hatori nodded and walk behind her into the room. The room that he had never entered before since he became Kurosagi's assistant only had a single bed with no covers.

"Is this your room?"

"That's right."

"Why is it so gloomy?"

"Because it fits me."

Kurosagi walked pass the bed. Hatori walked pass it too, but gasped when he noticed a large blood stain on it. Some of it looked fresh. He looked at Kurosagi and asked, "Why is there blood on your bed?" Kurosagi smirked at Hatori with a glint in her red eyes.

"You're not ready to go that deep into my darkness, Ogami-San."

Kurosagi looked away from him as she opened a door that was almost invisible. Hatori looked at the bed one last time and then followed her into the new room. Hatori gasped. The new room was filled vials, a special high tech burner, glass bottles with different chemicals, and some medical tools. Hatori also took notice of a chopping board with a cleaver on the side. He looked at Kurosagi with wide eyes.

"This is the Corpse Lab?"

"That's right."

Kurosagi placed the dead animal on the chopping board. She gripped the handle of the cleaver and used it to chop off the cat's tail. Hatori gagged when he saw Kurosagi remove the tail from the dead animal. Kurosagi stared at it and said, "I guess this will do for a burying subject." She placed the removed tail to the side. She picked the cat up and gasped as her eyes became glazed.

"Don't let me die."

Kurosagi dropped the body into a tray on the floor. She looked at Hatori, whose eyes widen once again.

"This creature still wanted to live."

"Why did you speak its words?"

"Because I held it took long."

Kurosagi kicked the tray with the body toward the burner. She then looked at Hatori and said, "Place it into the burner for me, please."

"Are you serious?"

Kurosagi nodded opening the door of the burner. Hatori gulped and picked up the tray with the body. Some of the blood splattered on his hand making him cringe. He tossed it into the burner and shut the door. Kurosagi thanked him and then pressed a single button. The body of the animal was burned to ashes by the flames of the burner. Hatori tried to prevent himself from throwing up. Kurosagi glanced at Hatori turning off the burner.

"I'm sorry if that was too disturbing for you."

"Don't be. I wanted to see what you do in here anyway."

Kurosagi smirked and opened the burner door. She pulled out the tray with the ashes. She placed it on a counter and began to put the ashes carefully into a vial labeled cat. A ringing of the phone was suddenly heard in the room making Hatori confused. Kurosagi crawled onto the tall table avoiding the ashes and slid open a small window. She peeked into it and saw that her phone was ringing. She looked back at Hatori and said, "The phone is ringing on my desk. Can you pick it up, please?" Hatori nodded and ran out of the lab still trying to control his nausea.

Hatori entered the office sweating and approached her desk where the ringing phone was. He picked it up.

"This is Kurosagi's office."

"What? Kurosagi do you have a cold? You sound like a man."

"I'm Kurosagi's assistant, Hatori Ogami."

"Assistant? I thought Kurosagi never wanted an assistant."

"Who are you?"

"I'm sorry. My name is Reiji Simmons, a friend of Kurosagi's."

"Are you one of her connections?"

"She talks about me?"

The voice on the other line sounded excited. Hatori sighed and said, "She never mentions names unless it is necessary."

"That's disappointing. Anyway, is she in?"

"She's in her Corpse Lab."

"She's in there again? What does she do in there anyway?"

"You don't know?"

"Of course not. She doesn't tell any of us what she does in there."

Hatori glanced toward Kurosagi's room wondering why she would show him then. Hatori shook his head and said, "Can I take a message for her?"

"I guess. I really wanted to hear her beautiful voice."

Hatori chuckled uneasily remembering Kurosagi's way of speaking.

"Anyway tell her that she has to head to Egypt."

"Egypt?"

"That's right. I already notified the airports about her travel. All the expenses will be taken care of by Derrick."

"Derrick?"

"Derrick Whitman, one of Kurosagi's connections. I hope to meet you in person someday, Ogami-San."

The line went dead. Hatori hanged up the phone and was about to head back to the corpse lab, until he heard Kurosagi say, "What about Egypt?" Hatori jumped in surprise trying to find her voice. He heard a small noise above the sofa and looked at it. A small window was opened revealing Kurosagi's face above the sofa.

"What is this about Egypt, Ogami-San?"

Hatori gasped and screamed, "You were behind the sofa?" Kurosagi nodded and repeated her question. Hatori sighed and said, "Some guy named Reiji Simmons says that you need to go to Egypt and that all the expenses is on Derrick Whitman." Kurosagi sighed.

"He probably wants me to help him find a tomb again."

Kurosagi clasped her face and said, "I hate traveling on planes and they both know it." Hatori laughed uneasily and said, "Well are you going to go to Egypt?" Kurosagi nodded.

"Derrick pays a good price."

Kurosagi shut the window. Hatori stared at the closed wall and came to a realization that the Corpse Lab was behind the sofa he slept on. He shook wondering if he should still sleep on it knowing what was behind the wall.

Kurosagi walked out of her room and said, "We need to wash up after being in the Corpse Lab." Hatori glanced on the blood on his hand and nodded.

They both washed up and then began to pack their things. Hatori didn't have much to pack, so he was ready in no time. He looked at Kurosagi and saw her put in a new vial in her bag.

"I've been meaning to ask, but what do you keep in that bag?"

Kurosagi smirked and said, "I'll show you someday." Kurosagi flung her bag on and looked at Hatori.

"Shall we go?"

Hatori nodded and asked, "Do we take a TAXI?" Kurosagi nodded with uneasiness in her face.

At around six at night, Kurosagi and Hatori were boarding a plane headed for Egypt. Kurosagi looked pale as she clenched the barf bag in her hand. Hatori glanced at Kurosagi and asked, "Why don't you take motion sickness medicine? It might work this time."

"I already told you that stuff has no effect on me."

Hatori laughed uneasily and pulled out another barf bag just in case for her.

"Don't I know you?"

Hatori flinched and looked up only to see a face he was familiar with: the actor Satoshi Lian with a bag over his shoulder.

Hatori hid his face behind the barf bag and said, "I don't think so." Satoshi stared at Hatori and then gasped.

"You're that guy that was with Dahlia, right?"

Hatori flinched. Satoshi nodded and said, "You were supposed to interview her if I am correct."

Hatori laughed uneasily and said, "That's right, but I quit being a reporter after Dahlia died." Satoshi's face became saddened.

"Yeah, it was a big shock that such a talented person died. I mean they even put the drama on hold because everyone was so down about her death."

"So that's why there haven't been any new episodes for almost two months."

Satoshi nodded still looking depressed. He noticed Kurosagi next to Hatori and asked, "Is that your daughter?" Hatori gasped and looked down at Kurosagi, who was still pale.

"Yes, her name is Ku…mi."

"That's a nice name."

Satoshi patted Kurosagi's head and said, "She looks pale though."

"She's not a fan of flying."

Satoshi chuckled withdrawing his hand. He pulled out a stick of gum from his pocket and handed it to Kurosagi.

"Chew on this and you might get better."

Kurosagi nodded taking it. Satoshi smiled at her and then looked back at Hatori.

"Take care and maybe we can visit some sites together in Egypt."

Hatori nodded with a smile. He watched Satoshi walk off and then looked back to Kurosagi.

"Will the gum help?"

"Sadly no, but I had to take it to be nice."

Hatori chuckled. The plane soon took off starting Kurosagi's flight torture.

What seemed like days in the plane were only a few hours in a normal time span. When the plane landed in Egypt, Hatori walked out with a nearly passed out Kurosagi upon his back. Hatori had his bag in his right and a trash bag filled with Kurosagi's stomach waste. Hatori felt like puking himself as he dumped the bag into a garbage bin. He adjusted Kurosagi on his back and asked, "Are you really OK?"

"This time no," muttered Kurosagi as she slumped on his back. Hatori held back a chuckle as he walked out of the airport with Kurosagi. He stopped in his tracks and said, "Now that I think about it, where are we supposed to go?" Kurosagi looked up slightly blue.

"Derrick always sends one of his assistants to pick me up. The assistant will definitely stick out."

"What do you mean by stick…?"

Hatori suddenly noticed a young man dressed in extravagant Egyptian clothing looking depressed. The Egyptian clothing upon the man had hieroglyphics on the hem of the "skirt" and sparkling gold almost everywhere else on his body. There was also an outdated Egyptian design crown on his head. Hatori chuckled and said, "Is that normal in Egypt?" Kurosagi sighed and said, "That's the assistant." Hatori looked at Kurosagi with wide eyes.

"You serious?"

Kurosagi nodded.

"Derrick doesn't want anyone to know that I am arriving at his locations, so he dresses his assistant in a crazy fashion that would stick out to get my attention. They pick me up."

Kurosagi ordered Hatori to go to the embarrassed young man. Hatori approached the man and said, "Excuse me?" The young man looked up at him with his emerald green eyes. The man looked around his teens.

"Please tell me you're Kurosagi. I can't take this humiliation anymore," he begged. Hatori smiled and said, "I'm not Kurosagi." Hatori gestured to Kurosagi on his back and added, "She's Kurosagi." The young man looked at Kurosagi, who was starting to recover.

"You serious?"

Hatori nodded. Kurosagi looked at the young man and said, "Please take me to Derrick without using a car if possible." The young man sighed.

"I'll take you to him, but please let me get out of this ridiculous get up."

Kurosagi nodded as the young man ran off nearly in tears. Hatori chuckled and said, "Derrick must be interesting to dress his assistant up like that." Kurosagi smirked.

"Derrick was always like that."

Hatori looked at Kurosagi with confused eyes. The young man returned in clothes fit for a desert with the Egyptian clothes in his arms. He sighed in relief as he looked at Hatori and Kurosagi. He bowed to them and said, "Let me start over. My name is Giovanni Norris. I'm nineteen and Derrick Whitman's assistant. I was given the task to escort you to the dig site, Kurosagi." Kurosagi nodded allowing Hatori to place her down.

"It's nice to meet you, but please bring me to the site right away…without using a car."

Giovanni chuckled and said, "The site is far and the sun is out, so you might feint before we even reach it." Kurosagi pouted knowing that she had to ride a car. Hatori looked down at Kurosagi and asked, "Can you control your motion sickness in some way?"

"I feel fine when walking."

Hatori thought awhile and then looked at Giovanni.

"Do you think we can rent a bike with her size?"

"A bike?"

"Yes, Kurosagi gets motion sickness, so I think she may be able to control it when on a bike because she is in control."

Kurosagi raised an eyebrow at Hatori and said, "That's actually a good idea." Hatori smiled. Giovanni nodded and said, "They sell bikes at the airport for travelers, so no problem."

They went to a store that sold bikes for a cheap price and found one just the right size for Kurosagi. Kurosagi eyed the bike and nodded. She looked at the seller pulling out a handbook and card from her bag.

"You have a card machine correct?"

The seller nodded pulling out a special card reader from his robes. She slid her card through the machine with a single swipe and then wrote something quickly in the handbook. She tossed the items back in her bag. The seller nodded when the payment was accepted and unchained the bike for her. He also unchained two other bikes for Hatori and Giovanni.

"Please come again."

Kurosagi nodded getting on the bike. She looked back at Hatori and Giovanni who were getting on their respected bikes.

"Lead the way, Norris-San."

Giovanni nodded as he pedaled to the front of them. Hatori and Kurosagi followed along. Kurosagi smirked as the wind blew through her hair. She looked at Hatori and said, "For once I don't feel motion sickness on wheels." Hatori nodded with a smile.

A puff of sand erupted from around the wheels of the bikes as they rode along for nearly hours. Giovanni looked back to make sure that they were keeping up.

"We should be there shortly."

"I hope so," said Hatori starting to get tired. Kurosagi looked at the passing pyramids and stated, "This place really hasn't changed much."

"So you've been in Egypt before?"

Kurosagi nodded. She sighed and said, "The people here were always so pushy." Hatori looked at her filled with confusion.

"I see the dig site!"

Kurosagi and Hatori perked up. Kurosagi stared into the sandy atmosphere and saw an ancient pyramid with different people in dig suits around it. Kurosagi smirked.

"Looks interesting."

They stopped exactly on the dig site. Kurosagi leaned her bike against a table. It was at that moment that she was embraced from behind.

"Kurosagi!"

It was no surprise to her that it was her long time friend Derrick. Kurosagi pulled out a spray bottle from her bag and sprayed it on his face. Derrick gagged pulling away from her. He covered his nose making gagging noises.

"Don't hug me without permission, Derrick."

Derrick pouted with tears in his eyes.

"I really hate that road kill spray," muttered Derrick. Hatori went to Kurosagi's side and asked, "Is he the connection, Derrick Whitman?" Kurosagi nodded and added, "He's an archeologist and a talented one at that." Derrick smiled brightly when Kurosagi complimented him. Derrick suddenly looked at Giovanni, who was placing the bikes to the side and asked, "Why aren't you dressed in the clothes I gave you?" Giovanni flinched.

"They were uncomfortable, so I had to take it off after meeting Kurosagi."

Derrick sighed and said, "That's fine then. But I hope you didn't damage it because that is Kurosagi's payment."

"Payment?"

Derrick nodded and demanded for the clothes back. Giovanni handed Derrick the clothes with a nervous look. Derrick took the clothes and dangled them in front of Kurosagi.

"These clothes, even though they look new, are millions of years old. It was discovered in one of the pyramids."

Kurosagi examined them and said, "I can take it as payment, but what exactly have you called me here for?" Derrick smirked. He pointed at the pyramid and said, "I need you to use one of your special secrets to help find a tomb." Kurosagi sighed.

"You mean like how I helped you find an ancient tomb in Greece?"

"That's right."

"Fine," said Kurosagi as she reached out to the Egyptian clothes.

"Professor!"

They all flinched. Bridget ran at them and pulled the clothes from Derrick's hands. Derrick looked at Bridget and asked, "What are you doing?"

"I should be asking you that. We found these clothes after digging for so long well preserved and then you just force Giovanni to wear them and now you are going to give them to a child."

Kurosagi glared at Bridget and said, "I may look like this, but I am an adult older than you." Bridget glared at Kurosagi screaming, "Lies!" She glared back at Derrick and said, "I know you have this gut feeling about a tomb being in this pyramid, but like I said, 'No one has ever found a tomb in this pyramid since King Tut was discovered.' Don't you understand?"

Derrick sighed and said, "And this is why you are just my assistant. As an archeologist, you have to trust your instincts no matter what is against you." Derrick yanked the clothes from Bridget and dropped them in Kurosagi's arms.

"Kurosagi will watch over these clothes no problem."

Bridget pouted still against the idea. Kurosagi smirked and handed the clothes to Hatori.

"The deal is made, so let's find this phantom tomb you speak of," said Kurosagi. Derrick nodded with a smile. Derrick suddenly took notice of Hatori and asked, "Who is he?"

"His name is Hatori Ogami, my assistant."

Derrick gasped and exclaimed, "Since when?"

"I've been working with her for five months," stated Hatori as he placed the garment on a table. Derrick examined Hatori and sighed.

"You're not dead, so I guess you are a good assistant for her," stated Derrick. Hatori blinked in confusion.

Derrick looked down at Kurosagi and said, "The place is dark, so we'll need flashlights." Kurosagi nodded as Derrick led her to the entrance of the pyramid followed by Hatori, Bridget, and Giovanni.

Derrick flicked his flashlight on as they entered the pyramid. Bridget and Giovanni did the same. Kurosagi yanked a small hand flashlight from her bag and tossed it to Hatori allowing him to turn it on. The pathway became darker as they journeyed deeper into the pyramid. Derrick stopped in his tracks and then looked back at Kurosagi.

"This should be deep enough, so please use that secret of yours."

Kurosagi nodded. She looked at Giovanni and Bridget and said, "Don't tell anyone of what you see today." They both nodded, but obviously confused.

Kurosagi lifted up her hands. She flicked two fingers up. A knock echoed through the hallway making them jump.

"What was that?" asked Bridget in confusion. Derrick smirked and said, "The body inside the tomb." Derrick walked forward.

"We just need to follow the sound to find the tomb."

Bridget and Giovanni followed even though they were completely bewildered. Kurosagi and Hatori followed behind. They journeyed through the pyramid making the darkness thicker around them. Kurosagi continued to flick her fingers creating the noise. Derrick looked at a solid wall and leaned his ear against it.

"The noise is coming from this wall."

Derrick kicked the wall repeatedly until it went crashing down. Bridget glared at Derrick and screamed, "How could you destroy a part of an ancient pyramid."

"Very easily," stated Derrick. He entered the hole in the wall revealing a hidden hallway. They smelled gas in the air and the next thing they knew, the crevices in the upper part of the wall erupted into flames. The hall lit up by the light of the new flames. Derrick's eyes grew with excitement as he looked at the hallway. He examined the hieroglyphics drawn on the wall and smirked.

"According to this, this hallway leads to the tomb of a mighty pharaoh, who helped create the Nile."

"The Nile was created by man?"

"According to this: yes. It might also mean that he helped create fertilization using the Nile. His name is…I can't make out his name."

Kurosagi lowered her hands and went to Derrick's side. She looked at the hieroglyphics with seriousness in her eyes.

"His name is Adeben Gahiji. He was the twelfth born son of the pharaoh, Bastet. The first eleven sons died of a mysterious illness, so Adeben took the throne after his father died. The Egyptian Gods blessed him allowing the knowledge to help Egypt prosper. He married his older sister, Eshe, who is buried with him in his grave, and had one son, Chike. He died after his son turned twelve by getting assassinated."

Derrick, Giovanni, Bridget, and Hatori looked at Kurosagi with wide eyes. Derrick laughed and said, "I can't expect any less from you Kurosagi." Kurosagi smirked with a nod.

"So you can read ancient Egyptian?" asked Hatori. Kurosagi nodded again.

Derrick stood up and said, "So Adeben Gahiji, an unknown Pharaoh, is buried at the end of the hallway. We better not keep him waiting." Derrick walked forward. Kurosagi looked at him and said, "I think you should check for traps first. He is a pharaoh after all."

Derrick laughed and said, "Come on, the traps are old, so they shouldn't work any…"

Derrick stepped on a loose rock and spears shot down from the ceiling barely missing him. Derrick was frozen stiff as he looked at the spears before him. Hatori, Giovanni, and Bridget looked at the spears with wide eyes. Kurosagi sighed and said, "I told you so."

Derrick laughed uneasily and said, "I guess we should proceed with caution." They all nodded.

They walked forward watching their every step. Bridget looked at Derrick nervously and said, "We should have headed back to get some supplies to prevent the traps from activating." Giovanni nodded in agreement. Derrick smirked and said, "Then where would all the fun go?"

Giovanni suddenly tripped and placed his hand firmly on the wall. He ended up pushing a loose rock and turned pale. Arrows shot from the walls. All of them ducked to avoid the arrows except for Kurosagi. The arrows flew pass their backs and one arrow shot through the side of Kurosagi's head and then impaled the opposite wall.

"Kurosagi," exclaimed Hatori as he stood up to check on Kurosagi. Kurosagi wiped the blood on the side of her head away as the wound disappeared.

"I'm fine, Ogami-San," stated Kurosagi bluntly. Giovanni and Bridget were in shock as Derrick laughed.

"Nothing can harm you Kurosagi," stated Derrick. Giovanni and Bridget looked at Derrick and asked, "What exactly is she?"

"My forever dear friend," stated Derrick proudly.

Kurosagi looked at Derrick seriously and stated, "It looks like we are not permitted to touch the walls too." Derrick nodded. They continued down the hall now being wary of the walls.

Bridget stumbled and stepped on a loose rock. All of them, except for Kurosagi, turned pale. They heard a rumbling noise and looked behind them. Coming down the hall was a boulder. They screamed and ran down the hall eager to escape. Giovanni burst into tears screaming, "I didn't become an assistant to fight for my life!"

Giovanni stepped on another loose rock as they ran. The floor before them opened up revealing a spike filled hole. They screamed as they slid to a stop. A boulder was behind them and a hole with spikes blocked their path. Kurosagi sighed, removing two vials from her bag. One vial was labeled "rhinoceros" and the other was labeled, "Elephant". She tossed the ashes into her mouth and then ran toward the boulder. She kicked the boulder shattering it into small pieces. She looked back at the others whose eyes were wide in shock.

"Shall we continue?"

Derrick nodded with a smile upon his lips. Giovanni and Bridget had calm down and were now trying to come up with a way to get across. Derrick looked at Kurosagi and asked, "Can you use another one of your secrets for this?"

"Fine."

Kurosagi pulled out another vial labeled "Pigeon" and swallowed the ashes within it. Kurosagi sighed as she floated off the ground making Giovanni and Bridget gasp. She picked up Hatori first and floated across the hole. She placed Hatori down gently and then went back to the others. She looked at Giovanni and Bridget seriously and told them not to struggle when she takes them across. All they did was nod with scared expressions.

When across the hole, they walked down the hall being even more cautious than before. Kurosagi had no problem avoiding any trap switches because she was hovering above the ground. Without any more trap activations, they reached the end of the hall which was a stone door with more hieroglyphics. Derrick examined the writings upon the door.

"Behind this door lies the great pharaoh, Adeben Gahiji, the creator of the Nile, and his queen, Eshe. Only the pure of heart can solve the riddle and open this door."

"So now we have to solve a riddle?" asked Giovanni in exasperation. Derrick nodded and said, "But it seems like the riddle has faded. I can't read it at all."

"So we can't get in?" asked Bridget with crossed arms. Kurosagi sighed and landed in front of the door. She clenched her fist and punched the door. The door shattered easily to their shock. Kurosagi looked at them and said, "More than one way to get in." Kurosagi walked in with the others behind her. In the room were ancient Egyptian treasures mostly Gold statues of Egyptian Gods.

"Amazing," said Derrick excitedly as he took pictures. Bridget and Giovanni did the same. Kurosagi looked around the room and noticed that the dust that should have accumulated was a lot less. Hatori noticed Kurosagi's expression and asked, "Is something wrong, Kurosagi?"

Kurosagi traced her finger on a gold statue. She examined the dust on her finger and stated, "Usually when a place is long undisturbed, there is some collection of dust that could be considered a storm and there would also be traces of earth upon it as well." Kurosagi wiped the dust off her finger and said, "But this isn't enough. It's like some person came here occasionally and tidied up the place."

"You mean someone might have been here before us?" asked Hatori. Kurosagi nodded.

Derrick placed a hand on Kurosagi's shoulder making her look at him.

"Can you use your secret so we can find the sarcophagus? It doesn't seem to be in this room."

Kurosagi nodded. She lifted up her hands and flicked her two fingers up creating the knocking noise. Derrick followed the noise. Giovanni followed behind, but accidentally bumped into Kurosagi making her flick up more of her fingers. Three knocks were heard in unison making Kurosagi gasp. She flicked up her fingers and heard the three knocks again. Kurosagi's eyes narrowed.

Derrick searched around the room for the source of the knocking. Giovanni and Bridget did the same. Hatori realized that the noise seemed closer to him, so he walked around in circles in his area. The sound seemed to hit him as he stopped next to a statue of Bastet, the Egyptian feline Goddess. He turned around and saw a rock that seemed out of place. He pressed it firmly. The rock sank into the wall and the place began to shake. Hatori gasped as he stepped back. The others looked in his direction as a hidden door opened before Hatori.

"Great job Hatori," congratulated Derrick as he went to the new entrance with Bridget and Giovanni behind him. Hatori smiled, feeling proud of himself. Kurosagi walked next to Hatori and looked at him seriously.

"Things might get complicated."

Hatori looked at Kurosagi filled with confusion.

Derrick walked toward the Egyptian coffin in the room. The coffin was solid gold and the paint upon it revealed the carving of a man. Derrick took the picture with excitement in his eyes. He looked at Kurosagi and said, "Isn't this amazing?" Kurosagi nodded.

Bridget looked at the writings on the coffin and read it out loud for all to hear.

"It says that whoever opens the tomb of Adeben will be cursed."

"That's what all ancient tombs say," commented Giovanni reaching out to the tomb. Derrick grabbed his hand with seriousness in his eyes.

"Usually when there's a curse it means that there is a trap placed on the coffin."

Derrick shoved Giovanni's hand back and looked at Kurosagi.

"Have any ideas on how to open the coffin? Also can you find Eshe's body as well?"

Kurosagi nodded and added, "I can use the body to open the coffin and as for your second question…"

Kurosagi held up her hands and flicked up her right pinky finger. A knock was heard to their right making them jump.

"Eshe's body is in that wall."

Derrick smiled and said, "Good job, now can you open the coffin?" Kurosagi nodded. She raised her right arm. The lid of the coffin shook.

"What is she doing?" asked Bridget. Derrick smiled and said, "She's controlling the Pharaoh's body to open the lid." Bridget and Giovanni looked at Derrick in disbelief.

"She can control dead bodies too?"

"That's right. How do you think she created the knocking noise?"

Bridget and Giovanni grew pale.

Kurosagi looked at Derrick and his assistants seriously as she moved the coffin lid.

"Don't scream."

Derrick laughed and said, "I've seen many mummies, so I won't scream." Kurosagi narrowed her eyes as she moved her hands sideways. They heard a clicking noise as the coffin opened making them confused.

"Is that sound normal?" asked Bridget. Derrick remained silent.

Giovanni realized something and asked, "The arms of the mummy should be bound to his chest, so how can she use the body to open the lid." Derrick realized this too and looked at Kurosagi confusingly.

Hatori saw small skeleton fingers under the lid moving it and grew pale.

"Kurosagi, is there something else in there?" asked Hatori shaking. Kurosagi shot her hands up. The lid was thrown off and crashed into the ground. They looked into the coffin and felt their hearts nearly stop. On top of the ancient mummy was a small skeleton in explorer's clothes with its mouth wide open and its arms still upward. Kurosagi lowered her hands allowing the skeleton's arms to fall.

Bridget covered her mouth in shock; Giovanni was shaking; Derrick had a serious look; and Hatori's eyes were wide with shock. Kurosagi placed her hand on the skeleton and said, "I can tell you this: this child was not dead for thousands of years."

After exiting the pyramid, Derrick called the authorities. Kurosagi sat in a tent with Hatori, Giovanni, and Bridget. Kurosagi drank some extra sweet coffee as the others stared at their feet.

"Was that child murdered?" asked Giovanni uneasily. Kurosagi looked at Giovanni and said, "Maybe, but we can't be sure."

"How old do you think the child was?" asked Bridget with her voice beginning to crack.

"The child must have been at least ten."

Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "But how did it get in there anyway and how long has it been dead?" Kurosagi placed her cup down as she spoke.

"The child's been dead for at least ten years to be in a bone state and the way he got in there is still a mystery to me."

Kurosagi sipped from her cup.

"Damn it!"

Kurosagi, Bridget, Giovanni, and Hatori looked at Derrick as he entered the tent. Derrick looked at them and said, "The authorities can't come until the sand storm subsides."

"So we're stuck with a dead kid's body that could have been murdered?"

"I guess."

Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "Maybe you can solve the case whether the kid was murdered or not?" Kurosagi sighed.

"I guess, but I would have to ask for a different payment. The Egyptian clothes were only to find the tomb. Not to solve a death of an unknown child."

Derrick sighed and said, "I don't mind. I can't have policemen remaining at the dig site because of one dead child." Derrick pulled out his check book and a pen. He wrote on one check and then tore it off to give to Kurosagi.

"This should be enough."

Kurosagi took the check and smirked at the amount. She handed it Hatori and said, "The deal is done."

Hatori looked at the check and nearly feinted. The amount on the check was worth one hundred million. Hatori looked at Derrick with wide eyes.

Just how rich is this guy?

Kurosagi stepped down from her seat and adjusted her bag on her shoulder. She looked at Derrick and said, "First we need to figure out his identity and then I can find out the people related to him." Derrick smirked.

"Well we can't use technology to find the kid's DNA Identification, but I can help show what the child looked like."

Kurosagi nodded and said, "I'm counting on you then." Derrick nodded as he left the tent. Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "What is he going to do?"

"One of his specialties."

Kurosagi then looked at Bridget and Giovanni and said, "You guys should make yourselves useful. That child got in another way without setting off traps, so find a place where a child could fit in around the pyramid." Bridget and Giovanni nodded and left the tent.

"What do I do?" asked Hatori eager to help. Kurosagi walked to the opening of the tenth and said, "I need you to come with me. I might need you to help protect Derrick."

"Why?"

Kurosagi pointed at the pyramid and said, "Derrick went back into the pyramid without any protection." Hatori sighed wondering if Derrick was a genius or not.

They entered the pyramid and went to the hall that was once hidden. They saw Derrick standing in the hall completely frozen.

"Are you OK Derrick?" asked Hatori as he approached him. Derrick nodded and said, "I was hoping you guys would come. I didn't want to take a chance of activating a trap." Kurosagi hovered above the ground and lifted Hatori and Derrick in the air. They flew across the hall. Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "How long are the ash effects?"

"They last a day," answered Kurosagi bluntly. They entered the treasure room allowing Kurosagi to place them down. Derrick entered the room with the body. He picked up the skull of the child and then looked back at Kurosagi.

"Let's head back."

Kurosagi nodded and was about to hover above the ground until she saw Hatori kneeling on the ground.

"What are you doing, Ogami-San?"

Hatori looked back at Kurosagi and said, "I think I may have found something." Kurosagi raised an eyebrow as she approached Hatori. She looked over Hatori's shoulder with Derrick behind her. Lying on the ground was a wilted daisy and a magnifying glass covered in dust.

"That doesn't look Egyptian."

Kurosagi pulled a handkerchief from her bag and wrapped it around the daisy and magnifying glass carefully. She handed it to Hatori with a smirk upon her lips.

"Good job, Ogami-san."

Hatori nodded with a smile. Kurosagi picked them up and journeyed out of the pyramid.

When outside of the pyramid, Derrick headed to his tent. He looked back at Kurosagi and Hatori and told them to wait for him. He entered his tent with the child's skull in hand. Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "Why does he need the skull?"

"He needs it to make a face reconstruction."

"He knows how to do that?"

"That's right. That talent of his comes in handy when I don't have Noda's DNA machine."

Hatori nodded. He looked down at the objects in his hand and asked, "So what do I do with these?"

"Keep them with you for now, Ogami-San."

Hatori nodded staring at the magnifying glass and daisy.

Kurosagi suddenly heard the engine of a car and looked toward the sand storm. Out in the storm, Kurosagi could make out the figure of a car. She frowned and muttered, "I thought the authorities wouldn't be coming until the storm subsides." Hatori nodded.

The car rushed out of the storm and slid to a stop in front of Kurosagi and Hatori. Out of the car stepped out, not the authorities, but Satoshi Lian in explorer clothes. Hatori cringed while Kurosagi had a passive look. Satoshi sighed and said, "Sorry for intruding but I had to get out of the storm." Satoshi's eyes widen when he saw Kurosagi and Hatori. He smiled.

"Mr. Ex-Reporter and Kumi. Why are you two here?"

Hatori tried to come up with an explanation, but nothing came to mind. Kurosagi stepped in front of Hatori and said, "Daddy and I were visiting Uncle at his dig site."

Satoshi smiled and said, "Is that so? That's a coincidence. I also came around this area to visit a relative, but I do plan to see some sites." Kurosagi giggled making Satoshi blush. He looked at Hatori and said, "Your daughter has a cute laugh." Hatori nodded looking down at Kurosagi. Kurosagi smirked up at Hatori.

Satoshi cleared his throat and asked, "Can I stay here until the storm subsides?" Kurosagi and Hatori nodded. Satoshi sat at the closest chair with a sigh. Hatori leaned toward Kurosagi and asked, "How can we do the case around him?"

"Just play along for now, Ogami-San."

It was at that moment that Derrick came out of his tent and said, "I'm finished with the reconstruction." Derrick froze when he saw Satoshi sitting in a chair looking at him with confusion in his eyes. Derrick looked toward Kurosagi and mouthed, "Who is he?"

"Satoshi Lian, a tourist. Don't let him know who I am," Kurosagi mouthed back. Derrick nodded and looked back at Satoshi.

"You come here to get out of the storm?" asked Derrick politely. Satoshi nodded and asked, "Are you Kumi's Uncle?" Derrick froze with a smile on his face. He looked at Kurosagi, who just nodded. He looked back at Satoshi and said, "That's right. I'm her Uncle." Derrick seemed to falter with his words making Satoshi and Hatori confused. Kurosagi sighed as she approached Derrick.

Kurosagi hugged Derrick around his waist making him look at her and said, "Uncle Derrick, show me what you made, pretty please." Derrick blushed and nodded. Hatori could have sworn that he saw flowers around Derrick and Kurosagi at that point. Derrick placed a hand on Kurosagi's back looking at Hatori and Satoshi seriously.

"My beloved niece wants to see my work, so please wait out here."

Kurosagi tugged at Derrick's shirt and said, "Daddy too." Derrick nodded realizing that she meant Hatori. Kurosagi looked at Hatori urging him inside the tent. Hatori walked into the tent behind them and then looked back at Satoshi.

"We shouldn't be long."

Satoshi nodded and watched Hatori close the tent door.

Hatori sighed in relief. He suddenly heard Derrick gag and looked up only to see Derrick gripping his nose on the ground and Kurosagi standing over him with her road kill spray bottle in hand.

"Don't get carried away."

Derrick nodded whimpering. Hatori laughed uneasily and then noticed the clay face next to the old skull of the child. The clay face looked like a small boy around the age of nine or ten. The hair was carved with bangs and looked short. The eyes were the same size and the nose and lips were small. Hatori stared at the clay face in amazement.

"Whitman-San made this?"

Derrick nodded with tears in his eyes. He rubbed his nose and added, "According to the structure of the skull; that should be what the child looked like before." Kurosagi stared at the face and added, "So the child is a boy." Derrick nodded.

"He's so young," said Hatori sadly. Kurosagi touched the cheek of the clay face and said, "He is young, but who exactly is he?" Kurosagi pulled out her phone and took a picture of the face. She turned her phone sideways and pressed the nine key. She pressed another key allowing them to hear the ring tones. A click was heard followed by a woman's voice.

"Terry Cheshire speaking."

"Hey Terry."

"Kurosagi, so you decided to call me yourself instead of making Orchie do it?"

"That's right and this is a business call."

"Business? When can you call me to party?"

"Terry."

"All right, so what do you need me to do?"

Kurosagi pushed a couple of keys on her phone and said, "I need you to look into some family records and see if you can find any information on this boy."

"Boy…all right, I got the picture. This shouldn't take long, but if you want the information in like five seconds like back in England than you better get me a second pair of hands."

Kurosagi chuckled and said, "I'm not in that much of a hurry."

"Good. This would actually go a lot faster if you told me who this boy was."

"That's why you are doing the search. This boy is an unidentified person found in an ancient tomb."

"Let me guess, Noda's machine isn't around, so we have to take the long way."

"That's right."

"As much as I'm guessing, Derrick is with you with a stupid look on his face."

"Hey!" screamed Derrick. Terry laughed through the phone and added, "Nice to hear your voice Derrick." Derrick pouted.

"Who else is there?"

"It's just Derrick, Ogami-San, and I."

"Ogami-San? Isn't he the guy you wanted me to make a fake file for? Orchie also mentioned that he's your new assistant."

"That's right."

"Well if Ogami-San can hear my voice, I look forward to meeting you face to face someday."

Hatori gulped wondering what Terry looked like. They heard a click noise through the phone.

"Bingo, I have found a name to the face. Sending the information to your phone."

"Thank you, Terry."

"No problem, but wouldn't it have been better to get Peter Khan to do the identity search than use me? He is the one in charge of world family records."

"I know that, but he has other affairs right now and I know for a fact that you can hack into his system when he isn't around."

Terry laughed and said, "Got me there. Well call anytime."

Kurosagi wished Terry goodbye and hanged up. Kurosagi flipped her phone open again and opened the new information that was sent to her.

"This child is Atem Rah, an only child and an orphan. He is ten-years-old. He was born in Egypt and was raised in the Bastet orphanage. He disappeared seventy-years-ago. They searched for a week and then stopped marking him as dead."

They looked at the skull with saddened expressions.

"So he was in the pyramid all this time, but how did he get in?" asked Hatori. Kurosagi sighed.

"I just have his identity. His entrance to the pyramid is still a mystery."

Bridget and Giovanni suddenly ran in and said, "We found something." Kurosagi smirked at them and said, "Good." Kurosagi walked out only to see Satoshi looking at them confusingly.

"Is Kurosagi here?"

"Why do you ask?"

"I mean these two people ran into the tent saying Kurosagi, so is she in there?"

Kurosagi sighed and crossed her arms. She smiled brightly at Satoshi making him blush and said, "That's my daddy's nickname. Sorry if you got confused." Satoshi nodded in understanding. Hatori was filled with confusion as he looked down at Kurosagi. Kurosagi looked toward Hatori, Giovanni, and Bridget and held a finger to her lips. They immediately understood.

Kurosagi curtseyed in front of Satoshi and said, "Uncle wants to show me something fun with daddy, so please wait here." Satoshi nodded and watched Kurosagi walk off with the others. Satoshi remembered her smiling face and realized that her smile looked familiar.

Hatori placed his jacket over Kurosagi as they went through the wind filled with sand around the pyramid. They reached a part of the pyramid that had a small part of it covered with cloth. Bridget pointed it out and said, "That cloth covers a small hole big enough for a child, but we don't know where it leads." Kurosagi smirked.

"I might be able to fit, so please wait here."

They all nodded as Kurosagi removed her bag and Hatori's jacket. She felt the magnifying glass in Hatori's jacket and looked up at him.

"Don't let the evidence get damaged, Ogami-San."

Hatori nodded.

Kurosagi lifted up the cloth revealing the hole. She crawled into it closing the cloth behind her. The hole was dark, so she peeked out and looked toward Hatori.

"Give me the flashlight and a vial labeled 'cat', Ogami-San."

Hatori nodded and dug in her bag. He found the flashlight, but had a hard time finding the vial she was talking about. Hatori found the vial rack in the bag and searched the vials. He was amazed that there were so many animals in different vials. He found the cat vial and was about to pull it out, but paused. He realized that he could search her bag to find more information on her and find out all what she was keeping in the bag. He shook his head realizing that he should be patient and wait for Kurosagi to tell him. He pulled out the needed supplies and handed it to her.

Kurosagi thanked him and then closed the cloth again. She switched the flashlight on and saw a tunnel before her. She crawled through the tunnel with the flashlight in hand. The flashlight suddenly died making her groan. She tossed the flashlight back and then ate the ashes within the vial. She closed her eyes and then opened them again. The darkness seemed to vanish before her eyes. She continued down the tunnel. She soon saw a glimmer of new light. She entered the light closing her eyes and then opened them again.

Before her stood a statue of Anubis glaring down at her. She stood up and walked pass the statue. Kurosagi grinned when she saw the treasures of Adeben and the broken entrance. She placed her hand on Anubis and said, "The entrance is found, now to find how Atem Rah died."

Kurosagi went back down the tunnel and then told Hatori and the others of what she discovered. She also told Hatori to buy batteries for her flashlight later on.

They started to head back to the tent. Hatori looked at Kurosagi and said, "We discovered the boy's identity and found how he got in, but did he die of natural causes or was he murdered?"

"That's still a mystery, so allow me to ask him."

Bridget and Giovanni looked at Kurosagi with wide eyes.

"Now you can talk to the dead?"

"In a way, yes."

"Seriously what are you?"

Kurosagi smirked and muttered, "Just a monster." Hatori stared at Kurosagi and then noticed that Derrick showed a sad expression, while looking at Kurosagi.

The minute they entered the tent, they saw Satoshi staring at the clay face of Atem.

"Why are you in here, Lian-San?"

Satoshi smiled at Kurosagi and said, "I got bored and the sand was getting in my eyes, so I came in here." Satoshi looked back at the clay face and said, "This is an amazing work. It looks so real." Derrick smiled proudly at himself.

"I'm glad you like it."

Satoshi nodded and added, "This face looks like the kid in my Grandfather's picture."

Kurosagi perked up.

"Your Grandfather's picture?"

Satoshi nodded and added, "He showed it to me and said that the boy was his best friend. He's actually the relative I was visiting in Egypt."

Kurosagi smirked and approached Satoshi. She urged Satoshi to come closer and asked, "Can you introduce your Grandfather to me, if I show you something interesting, Lian-San?"

"I guess, but why do you want to meet him."

Kurosagi smirked and placed her hands firmly on his cheeks. She leaned close to his face and said, "Don't tell a soul of what you see today." Satoshi nodded clearly confused.

Kurosagi released his cheeks and then went to the skull. She held her hand over the skull as silence fell all around her.

"Tell me the three clues I need to solve this death case, Atem Rah."

Kurosagi placed her hand on the skull and gasped as the heat rushed through her body. Her eyes glazed over making Satoshi jump back from her. He looked at Hatori and asked, "Is Kumi OK?"

"She's fine."

"Pharaoh, curse, protect."

Kurosagi removed her hand from the skull falling to her knees. Hatori ran to her side and helped her to her feet. Kurosagi smirked as she stood up.

"Pharaoh, curse, and protect: the three clues I need to solve this case."

Kurosagi looked at the shocked Satoshi and held her hand to him.

"I need to see your grandfather now, Lian-San."

Satoshi was shaking and asked, "How did you…?"

"The words of the dead come out of my mouth when I touch a dead body. That is one of the secrets of Kurosagi."

"Kurosagi?"

"That's right, I am Kurosagi, the great detective, not Kumi and I need you to help me solve this case. Now bring me to your grandfather."

Satoshi nodded still shaking. Kurosagi smirked.

The storm had calmed down, so Kurosagi and the others were traveling through the desert terrain. Kurosagi and Hatori rode the bikes, while the others rode Satoshi's car. Satoshi looked toward Kurosagi and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to get in the car?"

"I am absolutely sure."

Satoshi continued to drive and said, "I like it better when you were laughing."

"Well sorry, but there is no need to act in front of you now that you know who I am."

Satoshi sighed feeling disappointed. Derrick chuckled and said, "Cheer up. Kurosagi is still cute and hugging her is the best thing in the world." Satoshi looked at Derrick and said, "No offense, but you sounded like a pedophile." Derrick twitched, while Bridget and Giovanni tried not to laugh.

They soon reached a town just pass the Nile River. Satoshi stopped the car in front of a rundown house and stepped out of the car with the others. Kurosagi and Hatori stopped the bikes in front of him. Satoshi held his hand to the house and said, "My grandfather lives here."

Kurosagi got off her bike and eyed the house. She crossed her arms and stated, "You're an actor, so I thought all your family members were rich."

"Well not my grandfather. He's just a retired seventy-nine-year-old man."

Kurosagi sighed and walked pass Satoshi. She walked into the house and said, "Sorry for intruding." She walked through the house, until she reached a closed room. She opened it slowly and saw a skinny, bald, old man sitting on the bed staring at a picture. It looked like the old man hadn't eaten for years. Kurosagi approached him with the others behind her.

"Old man."

The old man looked at Kurosagi. He saw Satoshi with her and the others and asked, in a cranky voice, "Why are you here again?"

"I just came to introduce you to someone."

The old man looked at all of them and asked, "Which one?"

Satoshi placed a hand on top of Kurosagi's head gently and said, "This girl, her name is Kurosagi."

The old man flinched and asked, "Kurosagi?" Satoshi nodded. Kurosagi walked to the old man and asked, "So what is your name?"

"Don't you know it already?"

Kurosagi smiled and shook her head.

"I guess you think I'm someone else."

"Well you do look like her and have the same name to boot."

Kurosagi chuckled and placed a tender hand on his cheek. Kurosagi leaned toward his ear and whispered something that no one else, but the old man could hear. The old man nodded and said, "Well, my name is Moses Lian. I guess my stupid grandson forgot to mention my name."

"Grandfather," moaned Satoshi. Moses cleared his throat and asked, "So what do you want?"

"The boy in the picture."

Moses lifted up the picture in his hand showing two boys.

"Which one?"

Kurosagi pointed at the boy wearing the explorer's hat.

"That one."

"That one? He's my best friend. This is a picture of us together when we were kids."

"What's his name?"

Moses paused and clenched the picture in his hand. He took in a deep breath and said, "His name is Atem Rah."

Kurosagi smirked and looked at the others. She focused on Hatori and said, "Can you give me the objects please, Ogami-San." Hatori nodded and pulled the magnifying glass and daisy with the handkerchief from his jacket pocket. He gave them to Kurosagi.

Kurosagi showed the objects to Moses and asked, "Do you recognize these?" Moses looked at the objects. He picked up the magnifying glass and wiped the dust off. He smiled when he revealed the marks "A. R." on the handle.

"This was his favorite toy. I made it you know, using nothing but a cup and wood."

"Interesting."

Moses nodded and added, "He said that he would take it wherever he goes. He always took it to our play pyramid."

"Play pyramid?"

"It was a pyramid that we walked to everyday. The orphanage was very close to it then. We made a hole in it and created a great tunnel. At the end of the tunnel we discovered a treasure room. We loved to play in it and we also cleaned. It was important to clean."

Kurosagi chuckled, while the others listened in amazement.

"So Atem Rah and that old man discovered the treasure room in the pyramid first?" asked Derrick in disbelief.

"Why didn't you tell anyone of what you found?"

"It was our hideout. If we told anyone else, then it wouldn't be a hideout."

Kurosagi chuckled and added, "So do you visit it still?" Moses sighed and shook his head.

"I stopped going after that incident."

"Incident?"

Moses nodded and looked down at his feet.

"One day we discovered another hidden room. There was a large golden box with scribbles in it. Atem and I wanted to see what treasure was in it, but when we opened it with all our might, a smoke came out. I didn't breathe in that stuff, but Atem did. Atem started screaming and called me a monster."

Moses showed his right arm showing a deep scar that reached his elbow.

"Atem used his favorite toy to create this scar. I think the sight of the blood brought him back to his senses for a while because he told me to run. I ran to the exit, but then I saw Atem jump into the box strangling what was in there. He screamed, 'Don't hurt Moses cursed Pharaoh!'I called to him, but all he told me to do after that was to close the box to prevent him from escaping. I did as told and then left. I never returned."

All of them were silent. Kurosagi sighed and asked, "So you just left him?" Moses nodded.

"It was my friend's last request. He did it to protect me."

Kurosagi looked at the others and said, "Pharaoh was the connection to the murderer; curse was the cause of death; and protect was the reason why he died. All in all, it was the trap set in the tomb that killed him." Kurosagi placed a hand on Moses back and said, "Moses left him, but that wasn't the cause of death." Moses looked at Kurosagi and asked, "Tell me, is Atem finally safe?"

Moses showed the daisy and said, "He did say that a daisy would save him someday." Kurosagi smiled and nodded.

"He's safe, Moses."

Moses laughed with tears in his eyes.

Kurosagi left the house with the others. Satoshi sighed and said, "Grandfather never told me this. He just said that the boy was his friend." Kurosagi smirked and said, "Atem being a friend was his last great memory with him."

Derrick scratched the back of his head and said, "Well with this, the authorities just need to document it and bury Atem the right way." Kurosagi nodded.

"I insist you finish digging before they come."

Derrick nodded and ordered Satoshi to drive Bridget, Giovanni, and him back to the dig site. Satoshi nodded still feeling down.

Kurosagi mounted her bike and looked back at the house, where Moses was. Hatori looked at Kurosagi and asked, "You ready?" Kurosagi nodded as she began to bike off. Kurosagi looked back at the house as she biked and muttered, "Goodbye, Daisy Head."

When at the dig site, Derrick, Giovanni, and Bridget immediately went to the tomb in the pyramid. Kurosagi and Hatori followed wishing Satoshi farewell and thank you. Kurosagi helped them through the traps. Derrick ran his fingers on the wall where Eshe's body was supposedly. He looked at Kurosagi and said, "I can't find the switch." Kurosagi shook her head and punched through the wall. Derrick got his camera ready.

When the dust from the rubble cleared, all of them were speechless. There was no coffin. Just a body with mummy wrappings barely on it. Its mouth was open and the fingers were clenched in a strange way. Kurosagi took notice of the walls. On the walls were deep nail marks. There were faded Hieroglyphics on the wall as well. Kurosagi read the words out loud.

"God of the Underworld, please don't take me away. I am not ready. Eshe wants to live. Please let me go."

Kurosagi clenched her fist and looked at the body of Adeben.

"So he wanted to take his wife to the afterlife with him against her will. Selfish Bastard, no wonder you were killed."

Derrick nodded in agreement and added, "I bet he was the one who created the 'illnesses' of his deceased brothers."

"Anything for the throne."

"A cowardly pharaoh."

Kurosagi clenched her fist and said, "Even in death, he is still a murderer." Hatori heard the hate in her voice and wondered if there was a deeper meaning to her words.
