April 28, 1857
My grief is beyond words at the news that I must convey. I regret to inform you that both of our dear parents have passed away at the hands of a small influenza epidemic.
At the end of nearly a week they both slipped away peacefully in their sleep, Mother a day after Father.
I know that neither of our parents would wish you to shed tears; nor to think of them as they were in their last days, but as they were beforehand, always laughing, and Father always teasing, and in general being the best parents for which one might ever ask, even though we both must admit to being over indulged at times.
Don't worry for me, as I am fine. You are always in my thoughts and prayers,
Your Loving Sister,
Ava Marie Adams
This is the third in my Dalton series. Please review.
