Starlight Apocalypse

Chapter One

I was in a deep sleep like a computer that was shut off. I didn't hear or feel anything. I didn't even dream or knew that I was asleep. But suddenly there was a bright light behind my eye lids, then hands that were shaking my shoulders.

Slowly opening my eyes I keep blinking from the harsh lights. A figure moved into my line of vision blocking the cruel lights. I could sense somehow that it was a lady that I know. She moved a little back and my eyes follow her; not wanting to be burn from the light. Her mouth was moving as if speaking of something to me.

What are you saying?

All my senses were becoming focus now. I could hear fire alarm ringing and couple of people shouting some words. Feeling a cold metal in my fingertips as I try figuring out what I am lying down on. I was lying down on something cold and hard; my back aching from the discomfit.

"Get up! You have to get up now, Thana!"

My mind start progressing what she was saying. Getting into a sitting position I started remembering. "What is happening outside?" My head was somewhat dizzy form the sudden movement. Reacting to it i put my cold right hand to my side of my head. It felt good to my warm head. There were once couple of scientists in this room, but where are they now? They were going to fix me or something.

The lady looked at me, "The start of a war once you five members accept it."

"A war?" I repeated slowly. "What do you mean?" The word War sounded familiar to me, but why?

"No time for questions right now! You must follow me. I must get you to your other teammates. Let's go!" She grabs my right arm and tries pulling me to the only exit in the room. I could see that she was having a hard time getting me on my feet. The dizzy feeling was gone from my head as i drop my hand. Getting up I allowed her to take me away from this room. I didn't want to stay here in this boring pale white room and listen to the shouts from the outside.

Pressing couple of buttons in the side of a solid gray door it open to revealed a few people dress just like the lady- a white clean coat that reaches to their knee-cap- walking in a fast pace with a look of fear in their faces. Each of them wore light tannish hue pants. They all look like doctors or scientists.

A group of four that cast looks at me and then whisper to each other. "She is awake."

"Do you think they can kill all of them?"

"Impossible they'll die before they can kill half of the population!"

"Hush you know that she can hear you even if you whisper softly a few feet away from you like if you were speaking to her!"

I didn't know what they were talking about. I didn't feel any emotions at all ever expect confusion.

They stop their conversation and walk faster away from us. I cast a look to see if the lady had heard them but by her looking forward determine look I guess she didn't.

Then I remember what they were wearing. Was I wearing the same clothes as them? I look down on myself to see what I was wearing. Black shorts that reaches down half-way to my knee-cap with black army boots. I was also wearing a dark green T-shirt. Long dark brown hair that reaches up to my ribcage that was in a ponytail style swing back and forth behind my back. Okay I'm not a scientist or a doctor if I am wearing this type of clothes. No I am actually a…

A what?

My mind was foggy on trying to remember what I was. A minute ago I was starting to remember of certain things. I know that this lady was a friend and that her name was… Rose? "No it's Rosedale." I said out loud.

Rosedale peek over her shoulder and gave me a question look with her amber eyes. "Of course it's Rosedale, Thana. How can you forget my name when you had known me for like a month?" Her black hair that reaches up to her shoulder blades was loose and she had a white snow flake hair pin in her right side of her head.

Were we friends? No, I shook my head slightly. Are we friends? Maybe.

I didn't say anything and she didn't wait for my answer. We continue pushing through the crowd that had grown as we continue walking in a fast pace in the halls. Rosedale turns to a left corner path on a four way hall then it was just us and few others. When they disappear I finally asked Rosedale a question, "Hey, where are we going, Rosedale?"

"To meet the others. They are probably near one of the secret exits by now, waiting for you."

One of the secret exits.

In a distance there were a few lights off and a red light flashing on top of an exit door. There were a few people standing under the red light. Rosedale stops in front of me and let go of my arm. Turning to face me, she put a small dark blue book into my hand and spoke, "Once you are outside and safe read this book but don't, and I mean DO NOT let anyone else, than you five to read this at all!"

I wanted to ask her why not let anyone else read it but she had run past me. I watch her run down the hall that we came through. My instincts told me I could catch up with her and easily past her, but I ignore it and went to meet the others.

There were two men in clean black suits and they had a pistol in their hands. They look like bodyguards to me so I decided to nickname them bodyguard one to the fair tan skin man with brown short hair. The dark skin man was going to be known as bodyguard two who didn't have any hair. In front of them were four people.

In the opposite side of the door was a boy around thirteen years old with light sandy hair. There was a look of scariness in his green eyes. He was playing with the edge of his black T-shirt that read in front: War? What War? Next to him was a girl around the age of seventeen with brown hair that reaches up to her shoulders. She wore black tennis shoes, light brown shorts, and a faded black T-Shirt.

"So what's going on here, huh? Answer me!" An older man's voice said impatiently to the two bodyguards. The man that spoke was around his mid-thirties to forties and was dress as if he was going to go play golf. He had a bald spot in top of his head with only a few thin black hairs to try unsuccessful to hide it.

"Henry stop it. Once Thana comes over, they can tell us then." The voice came from a man around his middle twenties in leather black jacket and dark blue jeans. He was leaning against the wall near the exit door.

Somehow I knew that I know them all expect for the bodyguards. I just didn't know how. I felt calm being in their presence. We're all somewhat close, close as somewhat as friends. The young man asks me a question but I didn't hear it. "Sorry what was that?" I said.

"I said if they fix your brain. Or at least fix some of your permanent amnesia away."

Is that the reason I was in a white room. But why was I alone? I didn't say anything. "I'll take that as a no." He said. "I guess we'll have to reintroduce ourselves to you again." I heard Henry said under his breath worthless.

"My name is David Jefferson," The young man said hanging out his hand for me to shake. I took it with my free hand and we both shook our hands. His hand was warm and rough while mine cold and little bit softer. He let go and I put my hand back to my side. "This here is Henry Adamson." He point to Henry. Henry just scoffed and look away from us.

The girl steps forward with a smile and spoke in a happy tone, "Alicia Keys."

The young boy looks at me then at his shoes. "Andrew Gates is my name." He had whisper that but I heard it clearly. Their names were familiar to me as if we were all friends expect Henry. I knew that we were like teammates that were….no longer human?

One of the bodyguards spoke up. "Okay enough chit-chat."

When we all look at them, the other bodyguard said, "You got Orders from the President to leave from this building and eliminate all the zombies in this city. You have to come back only when there's absolutely no more zombies left!"

Zombies? That word sounded familiar. My mind and heart knew that this company had something to do with the zombies. Another memory came to surface. This place was called The Company.

Henry scoffed and said, "And what if we don't come back at all?"

"The only reason you won't come back at all is if you have been bitten and been turn. If you all survive and killed every zombies but don't come back then the President will decide on all your faiths." The first bodyguard replied.

David smirked and said, "I doubt the President will kill his supreme creations like if he could. Anyway don't worry about me not coming back. I will come back and get my revenge for what he did." Turning to us David look at each of our eyes, "I don't know about you guys but I'm anxious to leave this place already." With that said David unlocks the door and open it.

The bodyguards ready their pistols at the open doorway. The door look heavy to be push but David made it seem it was light as air as it slams against the outside wall. I wince of a louder noise.

David, Alicia, Henry, and Andrew went outside. I could see it was dusk time. Before I could go outside the first bodyguard stop me and hand me a tan color backpack. I took it in my free hand and put it on. It wasn't really heavy at all. There was a thin sweet scent coming out of the bag.

He looks at the book with one eyebrow rise. He didn't say anything through and gave me a paper that was folded two times. I didn't unfold it as I saw that the other bodyguard was starting to look impatient. I went outside and David starts closing the door. Once close we heard the bodyguards locking it inside the place.

David turn to me and said, "Oh yeah. Before I forget to mention to you, we're vampires."
