I could see the rain falling outside my window

I could hear the rush frantic waves of the wind

I could feel the cold damp dew on my golden brown skin

And I could taste the sweet bitterness dwelling from within

It was only a matter of time before the darkness claimed me

That time drawing ever near

I worried not for my own life

But for those I've come to revered

Could I really truly end my own life?

No restart button in reality is there for me to push

Or could I saunter peacefully into the night?

With no regrets to hinder my choice

I could hear the rain falling outside my window

I could taste the rush frantic waves of the wind

I could see the cold damp dew on my golden brown skin

And I could feel the sweet bitterness dwelling from within

With the thought of just maybe the darkness might forget that I'm even here
