My hands start to tremble, my vision to blur

A horrible, nightmarish thing's to occur

The dark bile rises, my thoughts pure disgust

I once thought I loved you, how foolish I was.

Your smirk starts to waver, I smother a grin

As my hatred spews forth, so the madness begins.

I briefly embrace your impending demise,

But alas! My hard reason begins to arise.

I temper my loathing, my temper gone cold,

I merely look on with my eyes' wisdom old.

But you've seen the horror, the beast underneath,

And such has our love now crumbled to our feet.

You stutter, I mumble, we both stare transfixed,

The space now between us, a dark cold abyss.

Where once stood lovers, now stand opposites.
