I never thought we would stop holding hands;

I never imagined that our faults would grow;

I could never believe just how different you and I were.

The higher we climbed, the more we wanted.

Now as we made tracks, I realised how impossible our demands were.

No wonder we were frustrated, it was like we were suffocating each other with dead hopes.

But no matter what, you never strayed off the path; you carried on past the pain.

It's my fault we're like this; I didn't believe the lie that glued us together.

We've reached the fork in the road and I think it's best we part ways.

We can't go on ignoring reality, this isn't the dream we wanted.

We can't go on living in this unthinkable nightmare.
