Beautiful Rose

Beautiful rose
So vibrant
So wonderful
Full of life
Color and radiance
Yet a prick upon my finger is all you leave me with
You wrap your thorns around my heart
Constricting
Tearing at my skin
Leaving nothing in their wake but blood and pain
The brief memory of your beauty is all I have left
The bitter sweet scent of your beauty
With every heartbeat pain renewed
Memories brought back
Yet they fade away all too quickly
The thorns in my heart ever present
Leaving no room to breathe
From that thorny vine of torment
Blooms a tiny bud of hope
A spark in the darkness of my heart
Latching on I nurture that but until it blooms anew
Becoming a beautiful rose
So vibrant
So wonderful
Full of life
Color and radiance
Yet always a prick upon the finger you leave
