Stark White

Sitting in a bright white-walled room

So spotless it's blinding

You occupy the only chair

You are the smudge of color

The stain against the stark white

You shiver as it starts to snow

The walls disappearing

Before you lay a stark white expanse of nothing

White clouds against a pale blue sky

White hills that seem to go on for an eternity

Rising from your chair you walk

Trying to find some landmark

Something to tell you where you are

Yet there is nothing

You walk farther and farther still

White wolves pad silently at your heals

You do not notice their presence until it's too late

The pack surrounds you

White razor sharp claws and gnashing teeth

Yet as they rake across your skin

Red stains the stark white

You are the smudge of color

The stain against the stark white

The next victim's only landmark
