Fate of Andell:

March of the Scale King

By

Branden Atkins

Flames rise from villages,

Death and decay spread long and wide,

The earth was trampled under thousands of feet,

The roars of ancient beasts soaring across the horizon.

Those who live or remain are enslaved,

Resources ransacked and consumed,

Temples razed to the ground,

As done before in the dust and stone.

Women stolen and forced to serve the king,

His might and flames bing and glazed,

His lust blazed those who defy him,

With his Knights of Scales and his mistresses.

His army of dragon worshippers claded in scales,

Of befallen dragons honored in battle,

Their bones, teeth, and claws reused to glorify them,

Ancient steeds gallop with such fusion.

Faces concealed behind masks,

Honoring the dragons with a sense of fire and destruction,

To be invincible in moral, stamina, and vitality,

To die valiantly in battle.

Honor in death,

Fearless in their charge,

Immune to all demoralization,

Unshakeable when confronted by greater foes.

To serve till death,

That is the code,

Banners flow in the winds,

Towering the inferior.

His sons are dragons and unspeakable demons,

His daughters are witches and unholy chimeras,

His wives are lustful and among a thousand,

His eagerness and wrath speak no words.

He awaits his knights to taunt,

Taunting the enemy with their weapons,

Sounds that make the earth quake,

Striking fear in the hearts of enemies.

As the opposing army trembles,

So did their will to fight,

And as they were stunned in fear,

The horns signaled the charge.

The spear ranks charged with lowered weapons,

The Dragon blade knights and witches followed,

Dragon Salkurs launched a powerful volley,

Those in front knew what true horror was like.

Dragons of old, even Evictek the ancient, burned his foes to ashes,

The chimera cavalry shredded through the enemy,

Demons demolishing and crushing the pagan warriors,

The Scale King smiles in bliss under Evicteks mask.

As the battle ended,

The pagans were spared no mercy,

But a painful and agonizing death,

The wrath of the Scale king and the Scale Knights.
